Hey, you're leaving soon, right? All packed up yet? Excited to go? Will you be staying in Melb from now on? All the best, Ged!Originally posted by Gedanken:yeah, know what you mean. Only that home for me is Melbourne.
Oooh yeah. We're already house-hunting over the net, and we've found some nice townhouses for rent. The packing will have to wait for a while - I still have a couple of projects to finish up here.Originally posted by SydneyLibrarian:Hey, you're leaving soon, right? All packed up yet? Excited to go? That's cool! Maybe we can meet up one of these days, thenOriginally posted by Gedanken:Oooh yeah. We're already house-hunting over the net, and we've found some nice townhouses for rent. The packing will have to wait for a while - I still have a couple of projects to finish up here.
Anyway, once we get settled in, it looks like we're going to get a few visitors from Singapore. I'm going to find some time to take a drive down to Sydney once all the dust settles.
Reserved one room for me...Originally posted by Gedanken:Oooh yeah. We're already house-hunting over the net, and we've found some nice townhouses for rent. The packing will have to wait for a while - I still have a couple of projects to finish up here.

i used to go to M'sia but now not anymore.. i hate it .. would prefer to go toOriginally posted by Qitai:Do you? How often? And where do you go?
Love NZ and AU too. But those places are more expensive and need more time. Malaysia can provide frequent inexpensive relaxation for me without much planning. Just need to figure out how to avoid the custom jams.Originally posted by juzded:i used to go to M'sia but now not anymore.. i hate it .. would prefer to go to
Newzealand or Downunder ..
Sure thing - I'll let you know when I'm headed down.Originally posted by SydneyLibrarian:That's cool! Maybe we can meet up one of these days, then
Are you getting movers to move your stuff from Sg-Melb? Or using the post office service? When are you thinking of buying? Heard the property may go up next year...
You're not allergic to cats, are you?Originally posted by kops21:Reserved one room for me...
LOL we can have Club 30 - Singapore, and Club 30 - Australia thenOriginally posted by Gedanken:Sure thing - I'll let you know when I'm headed down.
I've moved most of my stuff there over the last ten years, so at worst, a couple of 25 kg boxes will do the trick. As for buying, I'm in no real hurry.
Fer shure! We've already got Lingos and fymk in Melbourne, with a few others coming along in the coming year.Originally posted by SydneyLibrarian:LOL we can have Club 30 - Singapore, and Club 30 - Australia then
When we first moved over we packed all our stuff in 6 20kg boxes & shipped them over... took about a month, but we sure saved alot using the post office's services rather than the movers!
ME! Me!! Me!!!Originally posted by Gedanken:Fer shure! We've already got Lingos and fymk in Melbourne, with a few others coming along in the coming year.
I had most of my stuff shipped over in the first year in a big crate. I had a contact in a cargo company at the time, so I saved stacks on the shipping cost. I'll need to ring DHL and see what the cost of sending a Jumbo Box to Melbourne is, and hopefully it won't take more than a week.
Qitai, I've stopped over at so many places off the beaten track that I cannot recall their names. We really just took out our map and randomly decided where we should stop for the day so it was all unplanned and spontaneous.Originally posted by Qitai:So, Rhonda, what are the places in Malaysia you have been to? Is it just those few popular places or you went to the lesser known places as well. My brother and I and a group of friends goes to Malaysia quite often. But we go to the lesser known places, or well-known places where Singaporean do not go as much. Treking, waterfall hunting, island beaches, watching fireflies etc are examples of places and things we do in Malaysia.
Yoz Ged ... Sorry didn't see ur post ... well better late than nvr hehehe ...Originally posted by Gedanken:Hey Aulf, long time no see! What have you been up to?
