People always say,"Why you so fussy and your order so weird wan"
Whats wrong with fishball noodles without chili or ketchup? Those are quite unnatural.Have you ever heard of wanton noodles without ketchup? There's a dish in East Malaysia and Brunei called "Kolo Mee".Slices of char siew or chicken, perhaps a few wantons but no ketchup.Yum.Originally posted by elindra:Just wondering
I don't consider my eating preferances weird though some people tell me that it is weird that I like to eat paratha with curry and sugar, or how I eat Bak Chor or Fish Ball noodles without chilli or ketchup but with just soy sauce and lots of black vinegar.

Therefore unhealthy + unhealthy = super unhealthy???Originally posted by bEaNspRoUt:hmmmm....
wat abt the fats in Bak Zhang??? that is much more way tooooo unhealthy
Ketchup noodles is a weird SG invention.Something worth putting in the tourist guides.Originally posted by elindra:It's eaten without chilli or ketchup in HK too and yes I HATE chilli or ketchup in my wanton noodles too

i prefer the malaysia version too.. black black salty salty one...Originally posted by elindra:Agree x 10
But most people think Wanton Noodles is not Wanton Noodles without chilli or ketchup
Also for other places I don't see them adding ketchup into fishball noodles. They usually use a savory minced pork sauce instead *drools* I love East Malaysian version too *drools*
ehh mi too for the bak chor mee... i simply love it with vinegar n soy sauce~!!Originally posted by elindra:Just wondering

Same! Blackier better especially if they use really good quality thick soysauce. Heaven!!!!Originally posted by neuros:i prefer the malaysia version too.. black black salty salty one...
hate ketchup in noodles - will refuse to eat totally.
quite similar to me except I hate chicken feet. And yes, carrot cake must be white and crispy.Originally posted by neuros:wanna talk abt weird? hmm... here goes.
i like wantan mee/bak chor mee/fish ball mee/prawn mee with lots of dark soya sauce, the darker the better
i love chicken feet in dark sauce but not the white cold salad dish kind
but for vegetarian meehoon, i prefer the white version
for fried carrot cake, also prefer the white one, dun like the black one
i dun eat tofu unless it's the round egg kind or the fried (not steamed) agedashi tofu
i only eat taugua if it's the fried one in lontong - anything else, no thanks.
i eat tau pok if it's in laksa or in lor zup but not the malay way with taugei etc
i drink soya bean milk but dun really fancy tauhuey (unless it's super good and smooth, like the one we had at rochor the last time!)
i adore french beans but dun eat long beans
i love most vegs bar the red coloured ones because i think there's a weird smell
i eat pig's intestines, stomach, liver, etc but not tongue, blood, lungs, ears
i hate peas - will pick every single one out from my fried rice - unless they're super soft
enuff examples?
ok lah... once in a while... and i love those bak you (oil fried)... slurp~!!Originally posted by bEaNspRoUt:hmmmm....
