  oh yah.. opening and closing are usually more expensive coz lots of fanfare and stuff..

  You can get it at your friendly neighbourhood Poh Kim (is that the name?)..... or any VCD shop. But you gotta try your luck, not every shop has it.

  I saw sets of Ghost in the Shell VCD's for sale at S$29.90 for the series. Thinking of getting it after payday!

  movie, i only got the 1st on LD, but i got Innocence on DVD.. the series is Stand Alone Complex but it's in Japanese...
  
  which reminds me.. you want Cowboy Bebop - The Movie? watch it after episode 22 of the series... it happens between episode 22 and 23 of the series and may serve to bridge the change in mood of the series

  Yet another Hayao Miyazaki production from Studio Ghibli. The animation bears resemblance to Spirited Away.
  
  
  
  I enjoyed this anime thoroughly. In Spirited Away, I wanted the Green Dragon to be my boyfriend. In Howl's Moving Castle, I wanted Howl to be my boyfriend.

  Aaaahhh!! The one I saw was 'Stand Alone Complex'. It's Japanese but with English subtitles.

  actually saw somthing about Metropolis (old version) but never thought of getting it. you know if they have a book on it? and also, who wrote Neromancer(chk spell)? been meaning to read it since, like, forever.

  Neuromancer is written by William Gibson.. he also wrote a bunch of short stories and a few other novels... i enjoyed his short stories best.. find the short stories compiled in Burning Chrome...

  may have come across Gibson's book (Dorsai, Spirit of Dosai, i think). pretty good. but me more a Asimov, RAH, AC Clark guy. Kinda like WH40k books, too.

  his last was Pattern Recognition..
  
  i rarely read sci-fi.. only 2 authors got me.. Frank Herbert's Dune series and Gibson..

  Ah, Tintin. I remember in French class once, our French tutor told us that Tintin is actually pronounced as 'tartar' in French and there was a moment of silence before everyone burst out in guffaws spontaneously!
