okay... just saw something on tv which i wanna try out one day...
olive oil, mashed clove of garlic in a pot...
add diced carrot, onions, celery (or whatever veggies)
add a bottle of belgian beer.. bring to boil...
add cleaned mussels.. until the mussels open... serve with belgian beer...
sounds good huh?

someone just made mussels on tv again... this time in sydney...
knob of butter... in a pot.. throw in some capsicum, celery, chives... soften... throw in mussels... add 1/4 bottle of white wine... more butter.. a touch of pepper...
close and it's done!

the Bear's Long Island Tea
what you need:
30ml gin
30ml vodka
30ml white tequila
30ml white rum
30ml Cointreau
touch of cola
squeeze of lime
lime zest
sliced lime
tall glass
ice
method:
put alcohol into tall glass with zest and ice, stir gently with cocktail stirrer.. add touch of cola and squeeze of lime.. serve with slice of lime as garnish and a straw..

how about basic sushi ?
california roll
seaweed sheet
175g of pearl rice
225ml water
vinegar a dash
1 tsp sugar
pinch of salt
filling (up to individual liking)
crab meat
avocada
small roe
jap cucumber
or
tuna with mayo -
looks like that one may be a go!

may try it one day.. but somehow, i prefer sushi to be eaten at a jap restaurant.. coz i tried my hand at making it once.. was an abject failure
i guess i'm better at braised duck, and other stuff like that -

During wrapping ? i guess it is..
there is a trick to wrap it.
rem dnt use water on the cooked sushi rice, water will make rice non-stick (common sense)
Place the a sheet of seaweed, spread rice full on the seaweed
(common mistake is spreading the rice at the edge of seaweed)
place the bamboo strip on table with the sushi etc..
1. fold (dnt roll bamboo strip) 1/4 of the strip inwards and try gather
the rice to the edge by firming and press alittle
- release the bamboo strip back to flat
- shld get a humhhhh... shape of long tube with long seaweed untouch
infront of the sushi
2. fold 1/2 of the bamboo inward, and slowly bit by bit roll the
sushi with a little firm touch.
Voila... U are done..
(Practice make perfect) i was clumsy on my first attempt.. heeee
if i can made it, shldn't be a problem.

Don't really eat wrap sushi
Anyway, for sushi you really need skill for it
So I still prefer to eat those prepared by chefs -
talking about sushi... how about going to the buffet at Miramar?
there were several attempts at organising a mass pig-out session but none of them successful -
