Which is it?
Kinokuniya? Borders? Times the Bookshop? Popular?
Mine's a close fight between Kinokuniya and Borders. Lately, it's been Kinokuniya though cause their foreign mags are cheaper than at Borders. -
Kinokuniya at Ngee Ann City..wide selection of books, tidy and staff who are familiar with their inventory.
And Popular..dun ask me why..

Me go library most of the time. Cheaper. Can always reserve for just 50 Cents. Nowadays, some books can be really expensive.

Borders is cool.. but not sure if they have a discount card.. and heck! i don't have one of theirs anyway
Kinokuniya is wonderful for their sheer range.. and heck.. the discount card has paid itself many times over
still does not stop me from buying books from other shops.. coz when you gotta read, you gotta read -

But I am thinking of checking out Books Galore, a second-hand bookstore at Far East Plaza. -
Actually, I consider Popular to be more of a Stationery Mart than a proper bookstore.
And Bear, nope, Borders doesn't have any membership cards yet. They ought to start some sort of loyalty program because all the other major bookstores here have them. -

Nowadays, I try to get my CD's at Music Junction because they have a loyalty card program where you collect enough stamps and you can choose a CD up to a certain value for free.
HMV's also good - the VCD's there can be as cheap as $4.95!! And oh, HMV has a loyalty program too. Plus the selection of CD's there are so wide! That is the place I go to to discover new artistes and genres. -

undergrad time i worked part-time at kinokuniya. i got all the jap books i wanted at staff price and den after dat i quit

Kinokuniya has to be the best ... layout is nice with a huge variety of books... the shelves, decor and other non-book items displayed are interesting too... and of course the variety of books available is humongous... the only bad thing is the price (despite all their "discounts")..... there are poseurs there too..Originally posted by foxwalk:I prefer Kinokuniya and Sunny.
