Yes I know. But it is saddening that people have the Hitler mentality that their genes are superior..Originally posted by dibilo:its every where. racism is a norm when there are 2 or more race living together. the only difference is the extent or degree of racism. in singapore, i agree that there is racism but it is rather discreet. plp dun go onto streets or make banners to publicly critcize on another race. to me, this is good enough.
think about this, even mother and son quarrel over things sometimes, why not plp of different race?
Actually racism is not a norm and by accepting it, we are resigning ourselves to it by electing to think we can't do anything abt it. I do know of countries where people don't ask rightaway, what race is he/she. They do merge in and celebrate festivals together. They go out together. Just look at our school kids and even adults at lunch- it's crsytal clear that the segregation si there.Originally posted by dibilo:its every where. racism is a norm when there are 2 or more race living together. the only difference is the extent or degree of racism. in singapore, i agree that there is racism but it is rather discreet. plp dun go onto streets or make banners to publicly critcize on another race. to me, this is good enough.

yes.. i've read that article on straits times saying kids preferred to mix with those of the same race, but maybe it's bcoz they find it difficult to communicate in another language other than their mother tongue, or it could be that they are too young to realise that the difference in skin colour doesn't mean anything as long as the other party have a good character. they will eventually grow out of it as they become more mature and as the have the opportunity to mix around.Originally posted by foxwalk:Actually racism is not a norm and by accepting it, we are resigning ourselves to it by electing to think we can't do anything abt it. It's a lesser known country.Originally posted by dibilo:yes.. i've read that article on straits times saying kids preferred to mix with those of the same race, but maybe it's bcoz they find it difficult to communicate in another language other than their mother tongue, or it could be that they are too young to realise that the difference in skin colour doesn't mean anything as long as the other party have a good character. they will eventually grow out of it as they become more mature and as the have the opportunity to mix around.
anyway, what's that country/place that u are referring to? the one without racism?
Achar is a crap show.Originally posted by SMAPLionHeart:Can't help it, especially when shows like Achar came too late , im alright with inter-racial marriages , caramon once said foxwalk is a gal who likes white people , whether is it true , it's non of our business.
But the issue of white man being more superior is crappy.
However im biased against MCA/UMNO only.
Only thinking for thier own racial benefits unlike PAP...
UMNO wants more malay rights..MCA wants more chinese schools..
..hypocrisy..
People who look after their own breed aren't anything better..
Especially with UMNO making it compulsory for foreign eateries owner to have a malay partner with 30% ownership..
They are making their bumis weaker by helping them..
Look at singapore malays, so strong and have a association called
"Association of Muslim Professionals"
Malay, Indian, anything.Originally posted by SMAPLionHeart:Do a check on the searchbox , type in "malay"
you will see the massive amount of racism ..
I'd just wish that people can take this more seriously and the government can do something about it. I just think that ours is a timebomb waitjing to go off.Originally posted by the Bear:i was reading the papers where this native american boy went and shot a whole lot of people because he's intent on "racial purity"...
i thought he was just a sad bastard...
silent rage or racial harmony?
it all starts with ourselves.. i've never cared what race, creed, colour, faith or whatever the other person is... but the other guy may..
i've only been pissed off with bigots who insist on racial lines being drawn.. and deride others for not giving a damn about imaginary borders which are in their tiny minds...
who knows?
it could be surpressed rage now.. but who knows? there could be change in the future? we can hope and work towards that hope.. and that is more than the bigots have

Yep yep.. each other's unique traits can be joked at out of friendly fun.. but nv despised at..Originally posted by LazerLordz:It's sad.Heck, but I just tell myself that me and my crew are tight. We've known each other for years and we are comfy with each other. To me, as long as you're a nice and honest fella, that's the only thing that matters. So what if I'm fairer or you're darker?Means nothing.
Yes we joke about and kid each other's races for their own unique behavior or famous negative traits, but in the end, we are a crew, a bunch. And Singaporean first. But not many people can look beyond the colour of your skin.
Even within the same racial group, there are times where I have been looked down by some for being a "kentang".But I care not,for that is my heritage.Stand tall.
