Erm... how to invite them to come crawling at my place? My floor needs mopping and I'm kinda lazy to do it. You think they can crawl from my kitchen to the living room and then right out the door? Taka Ichise gives us another fright in Infection, which follows the goings-on at Chance Hospital where a burn victim is wheeled in and Dr. Akiba fouls up the medical attention. He and his staff decide to keep the bungle a secret. That's when another doctor, Dr. Akai, comes in and tries to help address the disturbing cases of patients that have started to agitate the hospital. There's certainly enough of mystery in the air here, and some gooey green stuff that look like acid, but the fear factor never rises to match the crescendo that was built in the producer's earlier offerings--the sensational Ringu (The Ring) series and Ju-on (The Grudge).

On the upside, Infection is the first installment of Taka Ichise's new six-film J-Horror Theater series. Very smart marketing move.
Recently released as a double bill in Japan alongside Premonition, the films have collectively grossed close to $6 Million USD to date in their first few weeks of release in Japan.
Premonition is the second film of the J-Horror Theater series, also produced by Taka Ichise.
