Well, it's not a given to listen to rants.Originally posted by EricDraven:Give the man a break man!
He's not exactly whining and lamenting and complaining... a lot.
Sometimes, people just feel down... and like to whine a bit...
We're humans afterall...
What's important is at the end of the day, you pick yourself up, be confident in yourself and move on...
Later no one dare to complain in Club 30sOriginally posted by Nelstar:Well, it's not a given to listen to rants.
At least, we're pointing him in the right direction.
it's ok to complain... just tat... some how the conversation steered towards a new direction...Originally posted by elindra:Later no one dare to complain in Club 30s

people in other countries live in rubbish tips, earn their living by scavanging on the wastes of the city, where warmth and comfort is burning what they can find that will burn...
and you keep moaning and groaning, lamenting your lot in life...
yet, the people in the rubbish tips go on living their lives with hopes and smiles..
it is nice to say a word of encouragement or give advice. but who are you to say that he did not try? are you in the same situation as he is, or worst? if not for goodness's sake keep your criticism to yourself. he is here for advice, not criticism.Originally posted by the Bear:not just here...
we do complain, but then, do we blame the fates, society and everyone else BUT not do a thing about it?
what i'm saying is that he's healthy, well and is not physically impaired.. so for goodness' sake, improve yourself!!
if the people in such desperate situations have the courage and strength to hope for better and do something to achieve it, we who are in a better place should at least have the spine to try!
you are digressing. did the thread starter whine a lot? not that i notice. And tell me who dont whine. of course it does not help solve his problems. that's why he is asking for opinion. at the same time it provides an outlet for him to relief stress.Originally posted by Nelstar:I just think lamenting and ranting wont do anything except release stress.
The most important thing is to do something about it. Whining doesn't make a difference. You can whine for years, or don't whine at all, it does not make a difference to your lifestyle. People who are suffering more didn't wince a bit, why should someone who suffered less whine the whole day instead of working hard to change their lives?
Of course, you're entitled to believe that ranting is a given. Whether you suffer more or less, crying doesn't change anything to improve your financial situation.
Great Statement !!! Thanks for all the comments and encourage .. actually no need to start a flame war lah! Like the author had said our purpose here is to encourage the 'fellow human being'Originally posted by EricDraven:At the end of the day, all of us are just trying to help a fellow human being... aren't we?
Thanks! It kind of warm my heart.. tell myself I must work hard to improve myself this morning!!!Originally posted by FuturesGuy:Hmm.. interesting topic.

i dont like to compare too. just curious about the postings i read in some of the threads. wondering if what was said is really true.Originally posted by EricDraven:Talking about pay will only make MOST people depressed...
There can be no end to comparison...
And I just find the wage gap between the upper echelons of the society and the rest of it too wide...
And the labour market is grossly inefficient in their allocation...
Lastly, I still think you better don't compare...
Hmmm... which part not true..Originally posted by dragg:i dont like to compare too. just curious about the postings i read in some of the threads. wondering if what was said is really true.

5 figures???Originally posted by FuturesGuy:Hmm.. interesting topic.
I know a couple of gals who would probably like their late 20s/early 30s guy (be it ideal/potential or current boyfriend) to have a gross monthly salary of S$4000 and up. I'm sure they would be willing to go a little lower on their expectations if they really liked a guy.
S$2500 does seem a little on the low side for a 30+ year old guy.
Don't be discouraged however! What's most important is that you seek to improve your lot and have the brains/common sense. It's pointless to have a guy who can earn S$4k+ and yet doesn't know how to manage his finances.
I know a guy who used to earn like S$6-7k+ a mth and above yet didn't have much savings at all. It's also important to have your priorities right. Money management is a huge topic.
I know many Singaporeans are happy to service house and car loans with a S$3-4k salary. Personally, I don't even think one should own a car unless he takes home a 5 figure monthly salary but hey different strokes for different people.
