Need help with suggestions for nice restaurant

everybody inclub 30, i need help!
am stuck on picking a restaurant for dinner tomorrow...
Its a mini celebration thingy and I didnt want to cok so I'm stuck with the job of picking the location and I cant really seem to come up with anything...
criteria is:
no chinese and no italian...
food must be SHIOK and really hit the spot!!!
any suggestions please?

What's your budget per pax?
Do you prefer buffets or ala carte?
And uuh, your question about Plaza Market Cafe... nope it's not the basement one. -

May I suggest Petals restaurant (SHATEC-owned) - food is great, service is excellent (cos staff are students trained to be attentive & wait on you promptly, if not, they may fail exam ), and best of all, the price is reasonable! Triple 3 at Meritius Mandarin
International buffet plus they have musicians going round the tables. It's like 50+++ -

Jap alacarte buffet at Ikoi's not bad. Miramar Hotel. But squeezy if you have a big crowd. -
try Straits Kitchen at Hyatt.
Buffet style. decor really chic and zen.
heard rave reviews. will be going there to celebrate friend's birthday... hard to get reservations!

i really like straits-style food, like laksa, congee. in other words, hawker food.
so for straits kitchen, you are paying for the settings and the quality (hopefully)
and buffet is always the best for a large group of pple. other than zhi cha...
if u want seemingly high-end stuff, go for the Mezza9, also at Hyatt. think that is more ex. -
That's the thing. I can never bring myself to pay $38++ for hawker fare.

Olive Tree Mediterranean Restaurant @ bugis (buffet) -
Black Angus steak is ok. Not too pricey coz they use Aust and NZ beef. Since it is at One Fullerton the ambience is not bad. Just dun take the ribs. I think it sucks.Originally posted by care bear:
