I watched it yesterday mainly cos it was directed by Danny Boyle of Trainspotting Fame...and cos I heard Ms Ong Sor Fen gave it 5 stars, which is a rarity... didnt know much about the storyline before going in but thoroughly enjoyed myself for the entire duration of the program....Wont say much now in case you guys havent seen it yet but my favourite part was St Peters explanation on the Five loves and two fish story in the bible...
Heres a review from E! entertainment....
"Danny Boyle has found God. The director may have always had the faith, but the hollow-eyed junkies careening through Trainspotting and the murderous zombies of 28 Days Later gave us little indication of a religious streak. Millions, however, is a snappy advertisement for Christianity, a morality play complete with saintly visitations and a blessed innocent. Alexander Nathan Etel is the youngest son of a recently widowed father, struggling to do the right thing sans the guidance of his beloved mum. When a miracle arrives in the form of a bag full of crisp English pounds, Etel and his brother must decide what to do the with money before England goes over to the Euro. Dry Brit humor, fine acting and propulsive direction keep things from getting too syrupy. In the end, the movie's moral message is refreshing--even if Boyle does beat us over the head with it.
