Ferret, reading your post reminded me of some situations in my life too.
I've lost a few close friends through 'natural attrition' too. When my electronic phonebook conked out once, taking along with it to the grave all my friends' contact no.s, I was beside myself! I was mourning over the loss of all the contact no.s - how was I going to call up my friends?!
And then I realised something... if they missed me and were thinking of me too, they would call me. Which a handful did, the rest never did.
I guess friends are like those little paper boats with candles inside that the Thai's put out in the river during one of their festivals... some of the boats would float out into the ocean and never return, other paper boats would always float pretty close to shore and remain within your range of vision always.
As we go on in life, inevitably, we keep some, we lose some. Not to forget, there will always be new paper boats that'll come and berth in our docks, be it for a short while only or for a long, long time.
I've learnt to look back and smile at the happy memories. I no longer question why or think about the what-could-have-been's. Friends come, friends go, and there will always be that special few who'll stay on and make their home in our hearts.

I think most if not all of us has at one point of our life sink into that kind of mode or reminiscence. I have my share too but I take it as a beautiful memory. A lesson learnt and with it, enrich my current self being.
Take chocolates....oops 4pm, got to go. "Pang kang liao". Anyways, heard chocolates has this ingredient that brings out love in people.

Today's thought...
There are people who started to curse and swear whenever it started to rain.
As for me.... i m only happy when it rains. I believe rain comes down for a reason, to wipe away the dust of human soul, to wash away the misery and let things start all afresh once more. Perhaps you might find the rainbow, so if you want the rainbow, you must first embrace the rain.

...... i respect all religions...it's the nagging thoughts that why these people who claim to be religious but do things that contradict their beliefs and teachings. what a shame ehhh.......... -

thought for today:
in life, when you are dammed, you damm well know it.
i woke up late today, almost by an hour, went out all the way to the mrt den realise forgot to bring wallet AND house keys. and my parents went out.
heng they not far away.
so i have to take cab down (to slack in office). -
........ imagine thoughts are liked little drops of water, as you collected more thoughts, it turned into a puddle of water. Then into a pond, as more thoughts gathered, it turned into a lake and finally into an ocean. You will drown in the ocean of negativity. But if your thoughts are positived, you will float in the ocean of life........

.......staring nonchanantly at my fish tank, there is one lonely fish left. Some died of old age, some died of sickness & some committed suicide ( JUmp out of the tank)...seems liked fishes do have problem too..... can't help thinking fishes are human too

...... people seems to be getting uptight & serious nowsaday, the jokes isn't funny anymore. The stressful life-style had pushed them down under. Angels can fly caused they take life lightly. Loosen up a little bit, have some fun & be playful. Bring out the child in you. Life loves a tragedy, but don't let tragedies come before ya....
