  Fortune Teller yes. Went for fun since they had fortune telling at the Grand Temple in Bangkok.
  
  Thing is, I'm not comfortable with his predictions as they are eerily accurate. Not that we dwell on it that it became a self-fulling prophecy but when we took out the notes to check, it came true.

  nope but tat time my friend's friend read my palm.... certain parts quite accurate.... but not so good one

  We just went to the grand temple and they had a fortune telling corner with a few fortune tellers and we just went to this old man who was free.

  Guess depends on how tactful the fortune teller is. Usually those out for a quick buck will tell you horror stories and that you need to buy this and that to avoid it.
  
  The one I went to didn't tell us the bad things directly but just tell us what we should try to do and to avoid certain things during which period. You know that he is telling you something bad but not saying it.

  No, cos I tend to obsess over stuff. Good or bad, things happen anwyay, so I'd rather not know.

  I just went to one recently to ask about the date to start construction work for my house. Ask about house than she tell me I very suay (which is true my luck has been terrible lately) Gave me a talisman and some flowers to bathe. So far so good. Btw she doesn't accept money. Anything you wanna give is up to you.
  
  This medium was recommanded by my collegue. The spirit that possess her is the Goddess Guan Ying. I heard a few horror stories from my collegue about someone possesed going to meet the medium etc.
  
  I think every one is thinking i'm super supersititious now but I believe that getting an auspicious date for contruction etc won't cost me anything and it is better to be safe than sorry and have the elders in the family nagging in your ears if something goes wrong

  It is really an eye opener for someone with no religion. And the place was like packed.

  but in there, to me, is a terrible thing, religion or no religion... if you know the future, you're trapped in it... you will try to break away from it, yet be unable to.. and you will either despair, or be resigned to it..
  
  despair will lead to misery and anger...
  
  resignation leads to utter boredom...
  
  i guess i read too much Dune..

  since i started the topic, tot i'll pen my thoughts too...
  
  i've been to a few, always wary and sceptical. But i still want to listen to what fortune tellers have to say.
  
  Fotune tellers are generally accurate about the past and my character, but vague on the future (maybe my life is just plain and uneventful) touch wood!.
  
  they'd tell you some pitfalls, problems you may encounter if you continue on your present course.... for instance, i have too much pride and that may cause problems or unhappiness.
  
  I've not met any who asked me to buy stuff from them to avert impending disasters, etc...

  My mom brought me & my sisters to a fortune teller when we were young.
  "Future Telling" Uncle said dat my elder sis will marry good (no need to work) & my younger sis will marry early. Which she did, she got married @ the age of 21 & my elder sis is a full-time homemaker now. Maybe its purely coincedental, but Mom felt dat uncle really very ZHUN.
  
  Now.. Mom is expecting a different race/nationality son-in-law from me.

  at least you are conscious of the negative effect such prescience can have on people. some take their words and keep waiting, thinking that it is all there is!!!
