I guess it might be frustrating for both at some time - because the non-gamer won't be able to understand it when the gamer gets addicted to a game and he/she starts to live, eat, breathe, sleep and dream the game! Know what I mean?

It can be. He just freaked out over a US$111 bill for a limited edition game I bought
Then again, I freaked out at him for spending hundreds on a Shinomo (I think it's Shinomo?) Titanium fishing reel.
Yup it is Shimano. Always forget what it is called. He bought it cos the guy told him it was a domestic set and non-export setOriginally posted by the Bear:Shimano...
they make very good gearing systems and multipliers... also used in bicycles
so, both of the things are "pointless expenditures" in each others' eyes
Hey, its quite a common item and can be found at the following places (probably even more):Originally posted by choco B:Need some help here..... anyone knows where to buy shower curtain rod?
Thanks in advance!

- HDB type shops selling shower heads, tubings, etc.
- Funiture shops like Courts.
- Ikea has some nice and economical ones too.
- I believe almost any department store has them too - Isetan, etc.
- I think I've seen some at Spotlight too (there's one at Tampines Central).
Aiiii.....L-shaped ones are not very common. Those can be found MAYBE only in specialised bathroom ware shops like Sim Siang Choon (I was just there yesterday to buy a new toilet seat - one of those made of transparent acrylic with shells embedded in it).Originally posted by choco B:Ohh it's so common? Shows how unfamiliar with the home decor scene I am Thanks gentlerock!
I was thinking of installing an L-shape rod... but I'm worried it'll be flimsy and easy to pull down ... any advice?

Having said this, I'm not sure if Sim Siang Choon sells L-shaped shower curtain rods as stand alone items or not. But they have wonderful complete shower rooms, which of course come at wonderful prices as well.
I'm not sure how an L-shape rod is installed, but logically (and remembering how hospital bed divider curtains are hung), I think you'll maybe need to drill some holes in the bathroom ceiling. I'm really not sure.
Balancing between aspects of aesthetics and practicality, I would suggest going for a conventional straight rod (this is strictly my personal choice).
Originally posted by gentlerock:Yeah, I was right.....you need to drill one hole at each end of the rod....and one at the top to support the bent part (see picture below).
Note: For the conventional straight rods, you don't need to drill anything - the extendable rod holds itself up.
Well define reasonable?Originally posted by a_splash:sidetrack :
sory anyone can tell me some places i can find reasonably prices couch set for my movie room??
Thanks!
Originally posted by gentlerock:Come to think of it, with the straight rods which are secured without screws....if it drops, you can just simply prop it up again in less than a minute. Can't say the same for the L-shape ones, since you have to drill and screw them in again.

i am looking for the cloth type. i am hoping to find one with 'slant back and enugh head rest' cos will be more comfy to look at the screen. (my screen is made from majong paper and card board )Originally posted by elindra:Well define reasonable?
I got a really nice calf leather sofa set from Picket & Rail. I think the price was reasonable for the quality I got.
Anyway, are you looking for cloth ones or leather ones
Hi choco, long time no see u at sb!Originally posted by choco B:The cheapest ones should be found at those furniture factory warehouse sales. You see their ads in the weekend newspapers.
