Wow... next time I visit the hawker centres, I'll make sure I go with you!Originally posted by elindra:Wiping the table at the hawker centre before ordering my food and cleaning up the mess by piling everything up nicely and picking up the bones on the table and putting it back on the plates, and wiping off the stains before leaving the table.
I bring wet wipes I always have a pack in my bag.Originally posted by Rhonda:Wow... next time I visit the hawker centres, I'll make sure I go with you!
So... do you also bring wet wipes or hand sanitizer along?
It's a very good, hygienic and at the same time, considerate habit so no sweat!Originally posted by elindra:I bring wet wipes I always have a pack in my bag.
I don't know. I just can't eat at a dirty table. You can call it a pet peeve but I just can't stand eating at a dirty table. And since I don't like to eat at a dirty table, neither will I leave a dirty table for others. I guess it is a pet peeve and a habit.
I'm guilty of the first habit myself! hehehe!Originally posted by tare:habit of nuaing and keep snoozing my alarm for at least 30mins
when i eat fan cai, i have to "rearrange" and seperate the fan and the cai...
You know Rhonda, I'm always shocked at the mess left on the table by some Singaporeans. I mean, yeah, you have an old cleaning uncle or auntie to clean up the mess for you but seriously for some of them, I think dogs have neater eating habits. You find food left all over the table, gravy spills, food on the chair!!! Food on the floor!Originally posted by Rhonda:It's a very good, hygienic and at the same time, considerate habit so no sweat!
I like how you leave a clean table for others to use after you. Tres considerate!
I have the habit of nuaing for at least 30 mins before I wake up too!!!Originally posted by tare:habit of nuaing and keep snoozing my alarm for at least 30mins

PRECISELY!!! This ugly habit reeks of total inconsideration and selfishness. But then, the ugly Singaporean thinks of no one but himself/herself.Originally posted by elindra:You know Rhonda, I'm always shocked at the mess left on the table by some Singaporeans. hehehe... so tare, you and me, we're all nua-ers!! Long live the nua's!!!Originally posted by elindra:I have the habit of nuaing for at least 30 mins before I wake up too!!!
Oh ya awful toliet habits!!! Don't let me get started on this!!! A lot of the so-called pretty girls who look so hot, are so horribly toliet-trained that I think they need to be sent off to classes or something on how to use the toliet!!!!Originally posted by Rhonda:PRECISELY!!! It doesn't just stop there... just think of the awful toilet habits that abound too! Sometimes, you see pretty young girls step out of the toilet cubicle and then you discover that the beauty has just left a royal mess inside. And then suddenly, her beauty fades instantaneously...
Yup... all are habits... but all, except the last one, sounds like habits that are very commonplace.Originally posted by Deportivo:putting on right shoes before left shoes everytime.
hmm...wearing shirt/tshirt before wearing pants.
buttoning shirt from top down.
putting on tie while reading emails. count as habit?
Precisely!!! They probably got maid to 'fu shi' them at home, mah... so when they go out, they act like xiao jie.Originally posted by elindra:Oh ya awful toliet habits!!! They leave a mess on the toliet seat, a small puddle on the floor, splash water everywhere at the sink and leave a pile of tissue paper and facial blotters on the vanity top!!!
singapore too snob liao...got maids and got mommy to clean up....some of them don't even help the auntie when she comes cleaning...i always put my bowls all in one corner and put the scarps and bones in the bowl, make it easy for them to clean....Originally posted by elindra:You know Rhonda, I'm always shocked at the mess left on the table by some Singaporeans. Any special, shocking habits?
tats kinda kinky...Originally posted by Deportivo:special?
not really a habit, but i do it everyday. i check my wife's drawers to see which "inner wear" she's wearing today. then i will give her a wink. cheeky.
nah, i won't say kinky. it adds a touch of intimacy and romance. which is VERY good.Originally posted by RaTtY81:tats kinda kinky...
i think its usually the parents who contribute mostly to the behaviour of kidsOriginally posted by elindra:Well, I think it is really up to an individual. I grew up with a majie and a maid. My cousins grew up with maids as well, and I don't see us turning into horrible snobs!
I think education by parents play a part as well. Any domestic help was always treated as part of the family and we were always taught to address the maid as 'jie jie' or 'auntie', depending on the age. We were punished if there was any disrespect to the maid as well, so I guess if the parents treat the maid as a slave and not even the basic respect given to a human being, their kids will just follow suit.
