YES! It's the long-awaited SONY Playstation 3!
Some quick facts about it :
- about the same, size-wise, as the PS2 but has a more rounded look (but I'm sure not the same price-wise!
);
- it has a new processor technology — called Cell — which enables it to offer high performance for movie-like realism in games, high-definition movies, amongst other features;
- it will have a Blu-ray disc format, capable of holding 50 gigabytes of information, which is about six times the capacity of existing DVDs, as well as slots for memory cards, a detachable hard drive and Bluetooth wireless for up to seven wireless controllers
(I want!!! Powerful toy!!);
- The PS3 also will be able to run the thousands of games available for the older PS2 and PS1, officials said.
In the Channel 5 News just now, SONY officials even claimed that the PS3 is more powerful than the newly-released Xbox 360, which features three processors, a removable 20-gigabyte hard drive, a custom graphics chip and built-in wireless for cable-free access to the company's Xbox Live online multiplayer service.
Ah well, Microsoft took a beating this time! *bing-bing! (rings the wrestling match bell). 
The PS3 comes in black, white and silver. Let's take a bo-liao poll... which colour would you choose if you were to purchase the PS3?

Good ol' BLACK - 1.5
Why, WHITE is the natural choice -

Much to the surprise of journalists, Sony came out with a bang at their pre-E3 conference on Monday. What started off as a dull series of generic demos and videos quickly turned into a jaw-dropping demonstration of the PlayStation 3Â’s capabilities -- completely overshadowing MicrosoftÂ’s subsequent Xbox 360 press event. 
Sony pulled out all stops, revealing the look of the console, specs, and launch date. Slated for release in Spring 2006, the PlayStation 3 features a PowerPC-base core running at 3.2 GHz, 256MB of XDR RAM at 3.2 GHz, 256MB GDDR3 VRAM at 700 MHz, Bluetooth wireless controllers, built in WiFi (802.11b/g), and RSX, a state-of-the-art next-gen GPU by Nvidia with a clock speed of 550 MHz. Similar to the Xbox 360, the GPU is able to freely access the 512MB of RAM, lacking the constraints seen in conventional PCs. And continuing its tradition, the console is backwards compatible -- as is the Xbox 360.
While techno-geeks can ponder forever the potential ramifications of the specs, Sony spoke most clearly through its impressive demos (both tech and also of actual games), showing the potent console at work. Make no mistake: the PlayStation 3 is utterly superior in graphics to the Xbox 360 from what has been shown.

no lah, I already cut down on my usage liao!!
last time I played at least 40 hrs per week on my PS1, now usage on my PS2 per week is less than 10hrs -

I don't have a PS1 nor PS2, but I have a GBA and my PC - which I utilise heavily as a game machine! *chuckles*
There are too many toys to buy... In the meantime, have to sit here and lau-nua about the PSP and the PS3. *sighs...

Too busy with studies n my exercising routine which made me too tired to play for long, now I can hardly play continously for 4 hrs non-stop. My eyes will get watery n feel very painful!!Originally posted by Rhonda:How come? Got busy or lost interest?

I remember when I was crazy over the GBA... I would play on it for hours everyday, on the bus on the way to and from work, during tea break and meal breaks, in the restroom
, before bedtime, etc etc... I lived and breathed the GBA! hehehe!
I often had wrist pain then... must be the carpal tunnel syndrome due to the repeated and repetitive hand movements due to my incessant game-playing over a long period of time! -
It's actually very difficult for a non-gameplayer to understand the gameplayer's mentality, especially when it comes to total immersion and addiction to a particular game!
That's why it's really nice being single... you can play the game from the moment you wake up till you literally drop dead in the wee hours of the morning, non-stop, forgetting your meals or just eating whatever morsels and snacks you can find around the house, who cares, nothing matters except the game!
Imagine if you were attached! Oh horrors! Your boyfriend / girlfriend wouldn't be able to understand why you'd prefer to rush straight home after work to play your game! He/She would definitely not be too happy to know that he/she is now #2, after your new game! muaharharhar!!! -
