Bottom line: arguably the best of the six episodes. There are two inconsistencies that I'll raise when enough people have seen it.

I have not watched it yet... not sure if I will. I have not watched any of the Star Wars movies, so I'm not sure if I'd be able to make head nor tail out of this one.
I vaguely remembered watching the very first Star Wars donkey years ago. But I think I was a little girl then and quite restless and didn't stay put long enough to finish watching the whole movie. hehehe!
Actually, I did think of waiting till they release some fancy boxed set with ALL The STar WArs movies, then depending on the price, I might go and get that and finally, get to know what this Star Wars craze is all about!

I dont think its an inconsistency...if you managed to catch it in this movie, Obi Wan is the person that gave the orders for both R2D2 and C3PO's memories to be erased at the end of the movie...and later on, yes, he would have recognized R2 but could not possibly have openly acknowledge him cosOriginally posted by Gedanken:Agreed. 1) R2 would have no memory of him
2) Luke would question him about how he had prior knowledge of R2
3) R2 and C3PO had been left to the Royal house of Alderan - specifically to the Noble Organa family where Leia (Princess Leia Organa) was left to be raised - Obi Wan knew this back history so he knew of R2's importance and relevance and with that intimate knowledge of their backgrounds, jumped into immediate action in organizing a plan to resuce Princess Leia. -

I think the drift actually goes like this:
Excluding the obi wan forgetting the droids, conveniently, R2-D2 and C-3PO have their memories wiped at the end of Revenge of the Sith. But isn't it curious that Darth Vader doesn't seem to notice Threepio, especially since as the child Anakin, he personally built the fussy golden robot? -
