World Blood Donor Day - 14 June

well, the blood bank sent me a card...
thought of going to give blood on friday..
14th June, at the esplanade, they are having a picnic thing and a movie screening for blood donors
i wonder... it's also my afternoon shift...
wondering wondering...
apart from kops, who else is a blood donor?
oh.. i think my blood type is XO

i cant even donate.
doctor say my blood not up to standard!!

On behalf of the patients whose lives depend on that urgent / emergency blood transfusion, thanks for donating blood.
Everytime I run a blood transfusion, I always say a prayer for the kind souls who donated. Hey, kops, Bear... maybe I held pints of blood donated by you guys before! hehehe! 
I remember situations when the blood supply in the Blood Bank runs low.
I used to speak to the relatives of the patients who needed blood transfusions to let them know that it would be greatly appreciated if they would help to replenish the blood supply by donating blood. But you know what... we've been told to discontinue doing this because there were relatives who complained about this. 
I feel that if someone's blood donation has saved the life of your loved one, it's a gesture of goodwill to replenish the supply by donating blood yourself! Let's be honest, the supply does get depleted and so what's wrong with a gentle reminder to do your part? It is a form of social responsibility but nope... complain about anything and it totally absolves you of any responsibility whatsoever. 
Go figure.
To the young, healthy and able-bodied, the blood you donate will save lives. -

Till today, due to what had happened, my dad can't do the things he used to be able to do.
Wish I could donate blood to help others too, but I have a minor blood disorder that doesn't permit me to! -

oh yah.. if you have a major operation, they will not take your blood for the next 6 months..
they said no when i went to donate blood 5 months after my slipped disc op -

i'm a blood donor.......always go down to d centre to donate but they say i'm too early, cos need to be at least 3 mths rite?
My blood is AB+.....
i just feel happy that i'm saving someone's life..... -
i dunno.. i should donate more..
i think i will this coming weekend
must remember not to drink too much on friday then
