  "own" is often mistaken for "owe"...
  
  the bank owns the stuff i have..

  The sad fact of the matter is that proper diction would render one unintelligible amongst the natives.
  
  Case in point from my secondary school days:
  
  I've stopped at a bicycle shop to tighten a loose bolt: "Excuse me, could I borrow a wrench?".
  
  "Har?"
  
  (louder to combat traffic noise) "A wrench!"
  
  "Har?"
  
  "A wrench.... a spanner"
  
  (Utterly and completely glazed and nonplussed stare)
  
  "A spannah?"
  
  "Orh - next time say porperly lah!"
  
  Some days I despair.

  as such, Disney has decided to revamp the whole place, buying it wholesale... and building a theme park there..
  
  it'll be modelled after Winnie the Pooh...
  
  as such.. Clarke Quay will now be called.. Pooh Quay
  
  (okay okay.. it's downright vile and vulgar )

  or the french way, which I'm guessing is different?

  My bf said Delifrance who has attempted to be cool and foreign, has on more than one ocassion, used the wrong French verbs. Apparently there are male and female french verbs.
