Gulf Air?

Anyone gone by Gulf Air before? Share your experiences?
Am thinking of booking a ticket home to Singapore flying Gulf Air. Long-haul, I'd choose a more reputable airline like SIA, MAS or Emirates, but short-haul I think can use Gulf Air right?

Not flew with Gulf Air before but I think they are the most hijacked airlines
if my memory does not fail me.
Then again, I think they were all concentrated in the Middle East -

New South Wales to Singapore is considered short haul? No wonder the butter knife is plastic.

my sister flew Gulf Air from Aus, came back alive.
a friend flew with Gulf Air from about a year, still alive. -
