"Journey of Faith" Exhibition,Art from the Vatican Collectns

The above Exhibition will be held in the Asian Civilisations Museum at Empress Place from 18 June - 9 Oct 2005.
The full name of the Exhibition is "Journey of Faith : Art and History from the Vatican Collections" . Sorry the topic's badly truncated.

"Explore the magnificent collection from the Vatican Museums to discover the importance of Rome as a place of pilgrimage - a journey of faith that was and is still performed by many Christians around the world.
"The story starts with the main episodes in the life of Jesus, the development of early Christianity, and the importance of the two apostles – Peter and Paul. Visitors can see artefacts associated with the early Christians and learn why Rome is also known as The New Jerusalem. The exhibition will explore early pilgrimages to the Holy Land and to Rome , and the establishment of the Jubilees (special pilgrimage years). Visitors will see fascinating artefacts related to pilgrimages – for example badges worn by pilgrims during the 15th century, and the trowel used by the Pope to close the door of St Peter at the end of a Jubilee Year, as well as a Papal tiara and throne. The story of St Francis Xavier and his voyages to Asia and Christianity in Singapore will be the other themes explored and the exhibition experience will end with audio-visual accounts of a modern day Christian pilgrimage.

Hopefully we haven't forgotten about this interesting exhibition, with all the Shiisha, MM, Geylang and zoo outings. Any plans yet? It looks like I'll be available on more weekends than I'd expected.

Well, it'll be kinda fun to go together though. There are so many things about the Catholic faith that I don't know so it'll be good to have you explain to me.
Let's not go for the first one or two weeks to avoid the zealous crowd. We'll set a date later. Or, would you like to have the honour of organising this outing, KB?
PS. Dates would be tricky. If you are ok with organising it, let me check with a few other keen folks on the dates they're free first, ok? -

Oh, there's a great cafe in the very same building that serves an awesome Beef Pho there! It looks uber-kewl and 'uppity' but the prices were surprisingly middle-range. The Pho I enjoyed cost me hmm... $12 or thereabouts. It came with a lovely broth, a generous serving of beansprouts and lots of fresh basil! -
OK... got it! The restaurant's name is 'Indochine'.
My suggestion is that we meet on a day when most can meet it, which would mean Saturdays or Sundays.
-We start out with a nice lunch at Indochine.
-Then, we proceed to walk off our gastronomic guilt in the museum.
-After we've viewed the exhibition, let's head on to either the Fullerton Hotel for a nice beverage in their lovely lobby (their prices for coffee is steeper but it comes with two sticks of special brown sugar and two slices of kueh lapis!) or, we could head to Makansutra Gluttons Bay for dinner / supper.
