kops, I recently sustained a pretty bad injury that will leave me 'out of commission' for the next month, or more. Just returned to work and the injury seems to have become a nagging one. I think walking around really aggravates it. I really miss my gym sessions!Originally posted by kops21:when can you join me for some "high" session?
That was an issue I discussed with TX about just last week!Originally posted by ilovemyrolex:I think X-men has a made a very good point.
I think exercise need not be deliberate, just something that you enjoy doing.
Lots of folks seem to associate exercise with hard work.
Rhonda I'm like you. Exercise have to be fun or I really won't be moltivated. The reason why I like blading is because it is fun and I don't do it competitively. Then again, I need company I enjoy with to be with me before I'm willing to exercise if not I'll feel really stupid and bored doing something and loose all interest and rather go home to nua in bed or in front of the pcOriginally posted by Rhonda:That was an issue I discussed with TX about just last week!
He said that he loves the physical exertion and challenge that comes with exercising. He said if there's no hard work involved, no pushing yourself to reach your limits, then it's not real exercise.
I have a different interpretation of things. See, I'm your regular lazybones and I'm like a cat nua-ing here and there. Exercise doesn't come naturally nor easily to me. To kick-start my exercise regimen and introduce exercise as a regular feature in my life, I had to make sure it was fun and enjoyable for me. That's why I attended all those gym classes in the beginning... the music they played in the classes were wonderful! It gets you in the mood!! I loved the classes because sometimes, it felt more like dancing and grooving than pure exercise. It's exercise disguised as something fun! hehehe!
Once I started to have fun and enjoy the sessions, the rest came naturally. I started to push myself more and before you knew it, there had been a lifestyle change!
Different strokes for different folks, I guess! Whatever impetus we need to get us moving, the important thing is that it makes us so happy exercising that regular exercise gets incorporated into our lifestyle!
injury...RAT dun wan.... ...which part is "out of commission"....walking aggravates it.... most probably try other exercise that will not aggravates it....eg swimming?Originally posted by Rhonda:kops, I recently sustained a pretty bad injury that will leave me 'out of commission' for the next month, or more. On Thursday, I had a nice leisurely walk by the Singapore River with a friend and when we passed by this huge Botero fat-bird sculpture (with a very detailed anus too! ) we saw a bunch of office yuppies who had dressed up in their tees and shorts for a jog around the Singapore River. I guess they probably worked in the offices there and have decided to form a jogging group before returning to their offices for overtime or heading straight home. I was thinking, 'Wah... such a lovely idea! Wish I could join them!'

ChocoB, you forgot about those hamsters that get on the running wheel and start running relentlessly for quite a while. Mindlessly, senselessly, running running running...Originally posted by choco B:You don't see animals exerting themselves any more than necessary.
