Anyway I had mee goreng and my friend ordered the chicken wings. Not bad, prices are lower than the Orchard ones.
Esplanade Bayfront, past Al Dente and the new neon DXO bar.You just have to walk along the bay to get to it.Originally posted by Kuali Baba:Where exactly is "Glutton's Bay"? I'd like directions as I'll be having lunch there later. TY
Phew, thankfully I changed my mind earlier today. Cheers for the tip, Rhonda!Originally posted by Rhonda:PS. Kuali Baba, this Gluttons Bay is only open from 6pm to 3am daily so don't bother trudging down there for lunch - you'd be facing a row of empty stalls.
My pleasure!Originally posted by Kuali Baba:Phew, thankfully I changed my mind earlier today. Cheers for the tip, Rhonda!
looking at the list makes me hungry oredi. :pOriginally posted by Rhonda:This Makansutra Gluttons Bay has been my favourite hangout for late night supper for the past few weeks! I'm there at 2-3 times for the past few weeks!
Poor Rhonda, cannot squeeze into uni...Originally posted by Rhonda:This Makansutra Gluttons Bay has been my favourite hangout for late night supper for the past few weeks! I'm there at 2-3 times for the past few weeks!
No wonder my uniform is getting tighter! Feast myself silly, and cannot exercise in the meantime due to my injury! Cham! Better control now or else, no uniform to squeeze into!
Here's what I've tried and would recommend :
- Ho Kee Bao's Pei Dan Porridge (Century Egg Porridge), $3.50 for a large bowl, sooo satisfying!
- Ho Kee Bao's Chive Dumplings at $4 (I think) for 5 large ones! You can da-pao and keep them in the fridge, then microwave them for the next day's b'fast, which is what I do.
- Grilled Chicken Wings, with a squeeze of lime and dipped lightly in the tangy chilli sauce... yummy!!
- Oyster Omelette. You have to wait almost half an hour or more at times! But you get a crispy oyster omelette which is surprisingly not as oily as the usual orh luak's you get elsewhere. Worth the wait! If you're the sort like me who likes more translucent tapioca flour bits in their orh luak, then you might find it a tad lacking.
- Char Kuay Teow on a mysterious Yellow Leaf. Very popular choice for dinner. I found it nice but not raving nice. They also have Hokkien Mee on the same mysterious yellow leaf from the same stall but I have not tried that yet. The hawkers from that stall wear rattan hats and they have huge advertisements at their stallfront.
- Ngoh Hiang. Nice nice! The sauce is nice! They don't have that starchy pink sauce that I love to pour over my bee hoon from the ngoh hiang stall but in any case, the bee hoon came stone cold. Ngoh Hiang is sedap... but I'll pass on the cold bee hoon.
- I have not tried the Mee Goreng but my friend tried the Mee Kua and loved it!
One day, I'd love to try grilled seafood from the well, Grilled Seafood stall! DOH! Need to gather more people though, so can have a huge variety!
I've tried the satay and I must say that at $6 for 10 sticks + a few pieces of ketupat and cucumber, it's a ripoff. If you're not a tourist, you can get much better-tasting satay at cheaper prices elsewhere.

Makansutra Gluttons Bay is located in an open space beside the Esplanade. It is open daily from 6pm to 3am.Originally posted by thinger:wait wait wait...where are all these food places?
