Flowers perhaps?Maybe a bee or two insideOriginally posted by Rhonda:Wow... a lotta information! I think I have reached my memory limit for tonight! I'll definitely be experimenting with the MACRO mode and then I guess I'll understand better! Thanks, jOhO, for checking out the specs for me!
Can't wait to post my amateur attempts here!
Bees? Should steer clear of them! Skali turn out to be fatally allergic to bee stings, then, mati! Then, headline tomorrow, "Latest Buzz : Nurse stung to death for poking her camera lenses into a bee's business".Originally posted by LazerLordz:Flowers perhaps?Maybe a bee or two inside
ahah yeah well.. i'm quite "creative"Originally posted by Rhonda:Wow... you're really in demand! But of course!
And the last sentence... kwei ni xiang de chu!
good advice!Originally posted by LazerLordz:Now now..let's keep your paycheck intact and your hands free from injury..
Wah jOhO.....so in demand one...........I also want!!!Originally posted by jOhO:i'll be "shang-ing yue" at a wedding! ahahah
it's the most popular date for weddings. i've already rejected at least 20 enquiries for that date becos i was booked more than a year ago...
so for as long as i shoot weddings, i dun presume i'll ever get to shang yue. unless of course the bride's name is "yue" in which case, i shouldn't really be eyeing another man's woman.

Can you be my photographer for my 25th Wedding Anniversary? I will be old but can you touch up your pix so I look like 25 years old? I didn't have a wedding portrait at the studio (my biggest regret) so this will be a "make-up".
Say can pleaseeeee.........errr......it will be in year 2009
Depending on exchange rate lah......maybe I can buy a tix for him. But one way. Cheaper for him to come then for me and hubby to go home ley.Originally posted by Rhonda:
Are you flying back to Singapore then to celebrate? Or are you going to buy a flight ticket for him to Canada?
CCD- Charge Coupled Device. Its basically the sensor that detects light coming in when you snap a picture. The lens opens, and the light falls on this sensor, which is made up of millions of tiny detectors.Originally posted by Rhonda:Hmm... got a question... what is a 'CCD'?
I just realised that the A510 has a 3.2 megapixel CCD but the A520, the one I'm eyeing, has a 4 megapixel CCD... and the difference in price between them is $100.
Ooooh... thanks! Helps a lot! Now, I know!Originally posted by LazerLordz:CCD- Charge Coupled Device. Its basically the sensor that detects light coming in when you snap a picture. The lens opens, and the light falls on this sensor, which is made up of millions of tiny detectors.
3.1 and 4, denotes the number of pixel detectors, which translates to the amount of detail that you can capture. The higher the megapixel, the more detail, but it can alsomean more noise too(since noise is also something part of detail).
Another definition I found on the web says
"Charge Coupled Device: one of the two main types of image sensors used in digital cameras. When a picture is taken, the CCD is struck by light coming through the camera's lens. Each of the thousands or millions of tiny pixels that make up the CCD converts this light into electrons. The number of electrons, usually described as the pixel's accumulated charge, is measured, and then converted to a digital value. This last step occurs outside the CCD, in a camera component called an analog-to-digital converter"
Ahhhh.... So, many many buckets = nice nice photos!!Originally posted by jOhO:er laser.. ahah i dun think i'll enter into a discussion why more MP not necessarily = more detail. let me know if you do wanna discuss that tho.
ok, layman's terms for CCD (or any other image sensor)
imagine you had a grid of 100 x 100 buckets on a football field collecting water.
after the rain, u could measure the water level in each bucket and come up with some data.
1 bucket = 1 pixel
rain from sky = amt of light entering camera
rain in bucket = amt of light recorded by camera
DURATION OF RAIN = SHUTTER SPEED (technical you would need one of those retractible roofs on the stadium to signify a shutter in this example.
Ratty, here are a few websites you can look at to answer your question on what to consider before purchasing a digicam. Hope you'll find them helpful!Originally posted by RaTtY81:er.. wat r the things to consider if i wana buy a digicam? fel like takig photography
