Wow, yeah. Depends though... was that single burger gargantuan with a lot of sides? Y'know, 'American size'?Originally posted by LazerLordz:Wandered past Carl's Jr yesterday..
Combo meals at $12.90, a single burger costs $7.50.Sounds steep eh?
It had two beef patties, two slices of cheese..not sure about the rest. You can't see too well when you're peering through the metal shutters.Originally posted by Rhonda:Wow, yeah. Depends though... was that single burger gargantuan with a lot of sides? Y'know, 'American size'?
Well, considering that there's a sizeable Caucasian expatriate population here, and considering that there are a disproportionately larger number of sarong party girls to erm... 'cater to' that same Caucasian expat population, Carl's Jr might just find a niche.Originally posted by LazerLordz:It had two beef patties, two slices of cheese..not sure about the rest. You can't see too well when you're peering through the metal shutters.
Yeah... like Bear's favourite $10 Burger at MM - don't fret the price cause it is well worth it!Originally posted by dragg:if it comes with american serving then it is fine.

I have craving for local food all the time over here, and it is not easy to get...The nearest local food restaurant is like 2 hours away from where I am staying nowOriginally posted by Rhonda:Well, considering that there's a sizeable Caucasian expatriate population here, and considering that there are a disproportionately larger number of sarong party girls to erm... I guess you just can't underestimate the value of 'hometown' food when you're away in a foreign land and homesick.
I'm on homeground but I've had serious cravings for Popeye's and Krispy Kremes (doughnuts), both American chains, since I returned from my considerably short trips.
It got sooooo bad that when Popeye's opened their one and only precious precious branch in Changi Airport Terminal 1, I just had to go all the way there, to stuff my face with Popeye's! Didn't care that the price was steeper than similar establishments here. The food just brought back a whole flood of memories!!
So, imagine if you're a local living in Australia and found out that Prima opened a restaurant in your area. Laksa that costs four times what it does in Singapore? To heck with it, you've just gotta eat it!!
