u got me thinkin.. did they take the size of women's boobs into consideration?Originally posted by Rhonda:OK, I'm more optimistic now than usual. That, or I'm just trying to weasel and dig my way back into blissful self-denial! (Elindra!! I wanna be where you are!!! In Happy Self-Denial Land!!! )
I just discovered a new perspective that doesn't sound bad at all!
My muscles + blood + body fluids = 57% of overall weight
Including the estimated weight of my skeleton, that makes it roughly 61% of my weight.
Not bad, right? Add in weight for brain and other bodily organs, fat percentage, maybe 30% or so!
OK, I DID NOT READ, and I DID NOT SEE, that the 'normal' fat percentage for females is only supposed to be 23%! That one I didn't see, don't know, didn't hear, nothing!
(Men have it tougher... 'normal' body fat %age for guys is just 15%. Wah... ... you mean, they factored in 8% for the boobies??!!!
But... but... what if the boobies are B-I-G? Or what if they are small?
Well, they take the average measurements of a handful of subjects they've tested as their population and mean. (This is where statistics come in handy!)Originally posted by shinta:u got me thinkin.. did they take the size of women's boobs into consideration?

This means, if you're atypical, or if you're not 'average', then, too bad cuz you still get lumped together into the same category as everyone else.

I mean, the 'normal' measurents they use are derived from the average results of a group of people they've tested.
