Heard this over the radio recently... certainly is food for thought!
===========================================
Here's something to think about: Our lives are the sum of the choices we make.
Let me illustrate: An America journalist learned of two brothers:
one was a vicious criminal serving a prolonged prison sentence
his brother was a respected university professor.
The journalist discovered that their father was a hard-drinking, brutal man. Both brothers told virtually identical stories of cruelty and dysfunctionality.
In adulthood, one entered a life of crime while the other studied and entered service to community. The reporter asked each of the sons the same question: "What brought you to this point in your life?"
Interestingly, each man gave the same answer: "With a father like mine, how could I be different?"
Each brother made a choice: one used his father as an excuse; the other as a motivation – a motivation of what not to do.
What determines our lives is not what happens to us in life. It's the choices we make about what happens to us which makes the difference!
