I was on 171 around 6pm, heading back home. Was nodding off when I heard the sound of a camera's shutter going off in quick succession. It came from my diagonal right and there was this guy dressed in light blue floral/plain print combo shirt, gelled hair and carrying a brown briefcase. He was holding up his phone to chest level, and I heard the camera firing off again, and I suspect he was taking photos of this girl who was sitting opposite him, and was in a deep sleep.
He proceeded to act as if he was calling someone, but he did not talk and I told my friend who was sitting beside me.I told her I wanted to snap a picture of the fella and she took out her camera, but as we fiddled with it, a line of people began to board..and I lost the photo opportunity.
The fellow sensed we noticed him and were gonna take his picture, and he stared at me.I glared back at him and continued to fiddle with my friend's camera. He didn't look into my eyes after that.
Taking pictures of people while they are sleeping in public is not very nice, especially in close proximity.I'm love taking pictures of sleeping people if they have artistic value, but snapping a phone cam pic of a sleeping schoolgirl on a crowded bus is just regrettable.
Taking pictures of people who are awake or moving around is fair game, because they can object or you could ask their permission.
