Of coz there can be good sides of those evil people. But this is one guy who made a decision that took millions of life... broke away families... How good can a guy like this be? And all these for his own benefit. To get rid of the smart n rich jews and to create the so call Perfect human race. I bet he did not regret on his doings when he took his own life to save himself from humiliations.

have you watch show that promote the wrong side of the law? and everyone come out of the theature thinking the bad guy is right.
Not one person is totally bad, there are part of BAD that deserved admire. Knowing how to filter out is the key to growing up.

about a year ago, there was a debate in here about hitler...
goodness knows why that guy looked to hitler as some kinda hero..

Germany started the war. Hitler initiated the Holocaust. He showed disregard for even his own people who died as a result of his actions.
In this case, no matter which side of the coin you choose to look at, which point of view you decide to take, there's no denying that this is humanity at its very worst.
I wouldn't even say Hitler is a good leader, he's a brutal dictator who butchered even his own people, not to mention the millions of Jews terminated in his so-called "Final Solution".
I find it so laughable when Singaporean kids make comments like 'He was very determined in fighting and invading the other countries.' and 'People would say he looks like Hitler and he would take it as a compliment.'.
How sad that Singaporeans (not all, luckily) nowadays are growing up ignorant of the world around them, isolated in their own comfort zone with maids taking care of them.
And I find it appalling that the band conductor or teacher-in-charge didn't object to their choice of leader topic. They should be suspended or reprimanded!

As for the tennage yokels' admiration of Hitler's early success during the war, I would recommend just the first volume of Winston Churchill's memoirs of WW2. It lays out a blow-by-blow account of how Germany was allowed to expand by the Allies, thanks to Chamberlain's weakness (allowing Germany to rearm in clear violation of post-WW1 restrictions) and the Allies' inability to put their differences aside and stand together.
Hitler didn't win the first part of the war - a bunch of weak leaders lost it. Those teenagers' admiration of Hitler for that "achievement" shows their lack of knowledge, insight and, well, gray matter.
It's all a joke - hey, if they want to emulate Hitler, I say let them go ahead. They'll end up screwing their first cousins before they find a basement in which to shoot themselves in the head. Is that really any loss to the world?
Bottom line: it's like a five-year-old being pleased with the shocked expressions he gets from adults when he walks around saying "F***". Don't know why anybody's taking it seriously.

Wiesenthal was passionate to the point of mania, and Israel's actions in the West Bank aren't all that different from what the Nazis did in WW2. None of that, however, changes the fact that Hitler was a poor leader who simply lucked out preying on the weaknesses of the surrounding leaders, and who through a long series of poor and selfish decisions led his country to ruin. -

Correct. I do not understand why many people keep saying that he is a great leader. After the war, quite a number of his subordinates described him as an amatuerish military commander. He isn't much better in other fields as well. He would be a control freak on certain matters, but couldn't care less in other areas. Since the Singapore texts do not seem to be fulfilling their function, perhaps schools need to ditch its MOE approved textbooks and teach off the following websites and documentaries instead:

Personally, i think these kids just wanted attention, as kids their age do. However, i think that the persons in charge should have taken steps to educate them. Not to totally prevent them from doing so, but to at least tell them about what a wanker Hitler is. -

i find myself getting more and more idolized or attracted to Hitler...
and if he had not attacked the Soviet Union he wouldnt have died.....
and i also get chilled when i say his name out or support him.....
His fighting spirit was good and as he hated the jews..he killed 6 million of em...
and i also wished that the CCA "Hitler Youth Club" be set up..then i can join....
and u can say heil hitler here and wear nazi swastikas...but doing so in germany will get ya arrested... -
