Anyways, back to long weekend. Didn't go to Niagara Falls. Friends went and said lucky we didn't go. Traffic was crazy. Instead, we went to a place call Playdium. It is a like a mega Sega city (not sure if you played Sega games before). There are entertainment machines, batting cages, go-kart, rock climbing and mini putt.
On Sunday, invited my friend and her visiting relatives over for breakfast. Served the Taiwanese bak chang, cheong fun, yu tiao, ham chin pang, that butterfly cruller and yam pau. We sat out on the deck and enjoy/take in the morning air. Thereafter, we took them up north. Stopped by a locklift area, watch boats go by, then proceeded to a residential area called Lagoon City. This place really cool. Instead of parking cars, they park boats. Drove further north and stopped at a casino. Most of the casinos are built on native land so the architectures has that aboriginal decor. Got treated to a surprised mini show too which was a bonus.
Simple leisure, simple delight. On a whole, a nice long weekend although the heat is a killer. And you? How was your weekend? -

My weekend ah?? My gf's birthday.. so cooked some pasta for her for lunch, then at night went out for dinner, and movies. Sunday nuah at home.

But I thought that was pretty cool that you cook lunch for your girlfriend's birthday. I bet her heart melted ah.
Oh the mini show? Well, we were sitting around the atrium between hotel and casino. There were kids in our company and they are not allowed in to the casino. So, while their parents tried their hands at the machine and table, we baby-sat.
Suddenly, the lights went dim, then sounds of thunder and lightning flashes across the decorated ceiling. In the middle there was a fake log fireplace encircled by dream catchers chained on railings. Circling the atrium, there are pillars that looked like tree trunks in the dim light. There are "faces" on each trunk and as it lit up, a voice spoke and it looked so real. Then, there were simulated foot prints of animals (with the play of lights) all over the floors. Hope I describe it okay but if not, try to imagine Pocohontas (sp?)
Mini? Oh because it was really short. At max. 15 minutes. Surprised? Well, I've been to this casino many times (for concerts........all the old artists like Earth Wind & Fire, Air Supply, CCR, Donny Osmond, Gladys Knight, etc.....all cheap cheap one. Like I paid C$18 for Air Supply....pretty good seat some more) and I have never watch the aboriginal "show". So, it was indeed a treat for me to catch this "freebie". -

my gf's heart din melt leh.. occasionally i'll cook for her lah.. but she's the type that prefers to eat outside cos she dun like the hassle and mess i create in her kitchen.
The way you described it, I can't wait for the casinos to open here in 2005.. at least will bring some low priced entertainment. so, you're someone who will support having a casino? -

Oh, talk about dreamcatcher. I've got two friends who were arguing about the significance of it.
One said "it is to catch the bad dreams and let the good dreams through". The other one said "to catch the good and let the bad ones through." I did a search on the internet and found both version. Do you know which is the accurate version? -

Yeah, it was a nice weekend but not all weekends are like that. Just that since it is summer (and it is short), we try to be outdoors a bit more. Honestly, I don't like the sun. At my age, easy to get "pek paang" or "or paang" (blemishes), freckles and worst still, "lau lang paang".

Casino in Sg? Well, I didn't really follow this. But if Sg don't step up on tourism, what are we left with? The other industries all "cha bot" to neighbouring countries already is it? The casino will be ready in 2005? Wow, so soon. Good ley....can tie in with the opening of Disneyland in HKG. -
I had an American friend with Red Indian blood tell me about dreamcatchers once and if her version is to be believed, dreamcatchers catch the bad dreams and let the good dreams through.
