went for a second interview yesterday.
expecting a call today from the company on their decision.
they did not call. i guess i am back to square one.
sianzzzzzz.
this is so depressing.
my unemployment is coming to 19 months. -

But cheer up. Sometimes, no news means good news. If you are unsuccessful....."zha" (early) they call you up liao.
Anyways, good luck with your job search. Sometimes, this is the best time to re-evaluate what you will like to do or can do. Your skills, interest and talents.

can fully understand how u feel now, my hubby was twice unemployed for a long period....each also over a yr......
indeed it was truly frustration, the industry he is in is so bad, many companies went bust, i can't rem the numbers of letter he sent out.....and the interviews he went thru, (even if you are called the second time, its not necessary higher chances). He was very depressed. Confident level dropped....its very demoralising...
just have to endure lor..........just continue searching, but at the same time....maybe can also consider changing line by taking up a short course to back up....

there are plenty of jobs out there. but i really do not understand what the employers want.
i reduced my asking pay by $1000 from my last drawn. guess what?
they asked 'why are you asking for so low? we intend to pay higher!!'
talk cock right? they even told me that i fit their requirements perfectly.
but after the second interview nothing positive.....
wonder if these people are treating it like a game. -

one other company called me for a second interview (contract job) a month ago.
the director said things like 'guys are not suitable for sales administration jobs'; 'fat people are not suitable for office jobs'; 'if your performance is good i might consider sacking my permanent staff and give you the job'; 'we will give you bonus if your performance is good'.
why asked me to attend a second interview if he is already prejudiced? i felt like slapping him then. what an idiot!!!
during the 1st interview i was told by the regional manager and administration manager that there is a chance of converting from contract to permanent staff. but during the 2nd interview the director said no, it is definitely not a possibility. he even commented that my asking pay was too low and they plan to pay much higher. what an a$$hole!!!
i am getting increasingly frustrated with the local managers. these people take interviews like a farking game. they dont even talk with each other. the director and the 2 managers keep contradicting each other.
why cant they spare a thought for job seekers? we dont apply for jobs to enjoy interviews. if they are not serious about offering they shouldnt shortlist for the sake of it. -

he is very practical....willing to reduce salary requirement or 'downgrade' the job post, lagi worst...i think the recruiting ppl all the more are doubtful of the sincerity to work man..so damn frustrating.....and garment say we not practical don't want to downgrade.....but we are not even given the chance to! -

Sorry that your unemployment had lasted 19 mths.
The above comments about taking a short course to boost your resume and keep you in the loop is good. But unless you really have a lot of savings, I assume 19 mths is draining whatever savings you have ? If so, I guess you probably have expenses to maintain, family to support, etc. You could try taking up those low paying jobs while keeping an eye out for whatever it was you are looking for. Because the longer you delay, the more the expenses run up and also, your prospective employees will question why you havent been working for such a long time (if you did answer that qns honestly that is).
Please do not be discouraged, jobs are always plenty around if you are willing to move out of your comfort zone. And thats not just empty talk from me either, this advice is coming from a person who has worked more than 30 jobs and I havent even reached 30 yet.
