Harry Potter Craze

Just watched on News 5 Tonight that today, at about 7am, the new Harry Potter book was launched here. There's a worldwide launch today to coincide with the launch in the UK at midnight their time.
Can you imagine one girl actually queued for 13 hours to get hold of the book?
Apparently, Borders stayed open the entire night last night so these kids could hold their place in the queue! They were entertained by cheerleaders, magic shows, etc. and their staff were dressed as Harry Potter characters. All the cashiers wore black wizard hats with a silver star at the tip. Borders had even arranged for breakfast for folks who have been queuing the whole night for the book's launch.
Gee, when I was a wee kid, there wasn't such hoo-ha over the release of any book! I remembered being crazy over Sweet Dreams, Sweet Valley High, Catalina, etc... but these kids have taken things a whole lot further!
Much ado over Harry Potter!
Aaaaahhh... explains why Kinokiniya had crazy queues when I was there today. All their staff were wearing black wizard hats with silver stars at the end too! -

coz, as our friendly mutantdude, x-men found out, give it 3/4 year, the hardcover book was $7.95 and there was a huge lot unbought
oh well... never was into any fads -

i reach causeway point's popular at 7am and i din even bother to queue up until the staff ask if i was waiting for the book that i realise i am the no.35 person and i got a free burger king voucher. haha... i like the paperbag tho... nice...

I have never read a single Harry Potter book because sometimes, I just flat-out refuse to be part of a craze.
I'm never the first to get anything... I'm always waiting for the craze to die down, the queues to disappear, the bugs to be ironed out, and most importantly, the prices to drop!
Like right now, I'm DYING from waiting for The Sims 2 to be re-packaged together with their University addon as a price-saving package... but it's not easy waiting, man!!

I don't fall for fads either...I began reading 'The Da Vinci Code' only last month, and had my first bubble tea when the whole thing was winding down...

Sadly, Windows XP does not allow some of the older games to work. I so miss playing some of them!!

Now, I like to buy a game after the craze has died down and the diehard crazy fans have set up websites with walkthroughs, cheat codes, tips, and what-not so if I get stuck and just before I become so frustrated I destroy something, I'll just read the sites, and then breeze through the gameplay, no sweat! -
well, i am not for critisizing what others consider fun or fad
ordered mine, chose the option of self collecting it and got some pizza hut discount vouchers or sumthing, rather than delivery
was pleasantly surprised when i was prised out of my bed by my dad who handed me a package and paper to sign for the waiting deliveryman, plus one two discount coupons
anyway, will try to finish it, been tired these few days....
