Especially, when you were using English unlike that most Singaporean's would.
It seemed to me a little bit like a man in a lime green jumpsuit telling another in a luminous yellow leotard that he looks stupid and should change.
Are there rules pertaining to the "correct" brand of English to use when posting on Internet fora? Where are these rules laid down? Who made them?

My sudden change in writing style would seem odd, no?

Obviously, someone in here has a bone to pick with those of us who use good English in here. Whatever his/her motivation is behind it all, I really don't give a hoot about it. Let's continue to use or misuse English, as we like it!

paiseh har, my ascent is singlish but hor, last time i on another forum, ppl mostly frm the states, they can't even understand wat i type!! heng they no hear my angmoh... so, now i "see human, speak human language; see ghost speak ghost language"!
the very purpose of language is for communication. if an ascent would help my hearer/reader better understand wat i'm saying w/o testing my patience, why not?

regarding the chinese nationals learning english. for all you noe one day, they may speak better english AND chinese than our next generation of singaporeans..... *shake head*
