Food. That's all.
In all other aspects, Singapore is not as good. -
still on this island... but i guess the thing i'd miss most would be............................
the convenience of callin my frenz out for a mini gathering

when i was away for a while, when i touch down singapore, i found myself at jln kayu eating cheese prata 2 hours later......

Aside from the food (especially Hainanese chicken rice!), I can honestly say there is nothing I miss about Singapore.

i was once in switzerland for a week.
missed home terribly and the food of course. -
Hmm... no one mentioned the shopping here.
I really missed the food when I was away in the States... and it was only slightly over a month!
Before the end of the first week there, I was begging for someone, anyone, to drive me to an Asian grocery store to get a large bottle of chilli sauce!!

I was in UK for a month, when I got back, I wish I didn't.

Ah well, I cried on the plane on the way back from the States... cause I knew the crappy working conditions I was returning home to.

seriously, i like trying on stuffs (as in apparels NOT toothbrush etc, i'm not mr bean)
i miss the food here when i was in the States (2 wks nia).... the chinese food that is horrigible!!! and u call tat chilli sauce??!!
and i also miss the sense of security to be able to walk ard town after sunset.....
i miss the orderly traffic, cleaniness and the weather here (after 2 wks in thai)... they have no city/road planning, no dustbins and it was 40 degrees there!!!

Definitely miss the food
And of course some of my friends back home...and missed my family also, though when I am reminded of how little freedom I have back home, I think stay here is still better -

I don't miss shopping. Most cities have decent shopping.
It's getting TO the shopping that's the problem. I miss the accesibility of Singapore. I like being able to get around easily. It can be boring when you're living in a place where there are bad traffic jams into and out of the city, it's so inaccessible that you're stuck there till the weekends when you can travel further out. -

I also miss my family & friends, & the ability to make friends (genuine ones, at that!) easier in Singapore! Easier to understand each other if you're from the same cultural background, etc.
Food - I miss durian the most! The others I can live without.... -
I think what I miss most is the readiness of food
Was away in Australia for 3 months during National Service days. Going for dinner is such a pain... both travelling time and the wallet cos you need to call a cab and it's not cheap the cab fare over at Oz -

paying sgd 100 and looking in the supermarket bag
with dismay at the very little sgd 100 can buy in sg
rushing into the train with upmost urgency
when there r still ppl alighting like d train is going
to leave in the next second (just for the heck of it)
wondering wat happened to all d sgporeans when
u walk down d street
the super duper expensive broadband dat's not so broad
the super duper airport tax (approx sgd 70 last time I checked?)
compared to the lowly sgd 20 the neighbouring countries charge

Have been in the US for a year now...
Like some, I do miss the convenience of Singapore = just go downstairs and you can get yourself a decent meal (cha beehoon for breakfast, prata...). I also miss the public transportation and the feeling of security (albeit the threat of terrorism is high, but then again, being near DC doesn't help here).
But more importantly, I miss the medical system back home. Over in the US, it is so bloody inconvenient to just go see a doctor. First, you need to get the right doctor for the right age. My kids can't go see the same doctor as us cos they need to have peds. The medicine is only available in pharmacies and not from the doctors. Then there is the stupid insurance companies. What the heck, in Singapore, just go to any doctor and voila...solved. Man, it is such a hassle. It is no wonder the people here are so into self medication.
As for food, frozen foods from Singapore is so available here that I don't find myself craving much. But then, I guess if I am back home...I will probably be whacking Nasi Lemak, Pratas, chicken rice... -

think i only miss the food, my family and frens...
and having a mom at home to do all the housework...
