Tax Returns.. failure to file??

i just received a letter from the *&#@&$ IRAS telling me that i have FAILED TO FILE A TAX RETURN!!
yeah!! like i tried their goddamned PIN which didn't work, i went to get a SINGPASS which i thought worked...
and now they tell me i gotta pay $100 for failure to file when i did.. above and beyond reason??
i'm going there to have it out with them tomorrow!

They will give u chance if u are 1st timer. They will waive off the $100.
But I think it's better that u talk to them nicely. -

If I am not wrong, if ur e-filing is successful, u'll get a ID code. Suggest that u jot down the ID and bring along with u 2morrow.

i threw away the ID code long ago!!
i tried 3 times!
once with their goddamned PIN which did not work, and twice with SINGPASS which worked!!

and it's not "first time" for me.. as i have filed it in.. heck! i even talked about it online in the forums!

they want to squeeze some money outta me because their server died... and i KNOW their server died many times!!

i will not back down from their stupidity..
what i know is that their system was not up to the sheer volume of transactions..
they IT'ed it because it was "hi-tech" and for no other reason.. the senior management probably was sold by a song and dance about it and went without asking the people who will do the work...
typical...
now... i will go there and have it out with them tomorrow.. they will NOT pin something on me because their server went dead...
i will not just roll over and die for them.. that is how they will eat you alive...

Got an even better one. I've got an Indian friend whose name is pretty long, so in typical style, it's abbreviated when his clients write cheques to him. So he's gone to POSB to ask them to accept cheques to his account written in the abbreviation. Not only did the girl at the counter refuse to do that, she asked him to change the name on his IC to match the name on the cheques!
