NDP Rehearsal 2005 - Photos!

Got back not too long ago from the NDP Rehearsal and managed to snap quite a lotta photos out of which only a small handful were good enough.
Ah well, I'm still learning! 
Warning : Those of you who wish to be kept in suspense until National Day itself, don't continue viewing!
Before the actual parade, Gurmit Singh, Sharon Au, and a few other celebrities were busy getting us all hyped up for the event. These three Charlie's Angels got up and started dancing to the music... sooo cute!
Whoooooooooooaaaa!! Here they come, a-polluting the air!
Here they are, the marching contingents! With the famous Singapore skyline as the backdrop, I thought this looked astounding!
Next, the choppers bearing the giant state flag! I'm surprised the rotary blades looked like they were stationary!!
The Colours... one of the flag-bearers actually fainted later.

I've never seen our skies soooo clear and sooo blue!
Can't remember which planes these were... but the compere mentioned something about a huge transport airplane? Forgive me if I got it wrong!
And next, they gathered round in their finery, and worshipped an image of the ghastly Merlion, offering their song and dance galore!
As the sky darkened, the parade field came alive with vibrant light and colour!
And now, the jewels of the night sky!!
It was a great day! And all of us received a Fun Pack full of goodies!! Yippeee!! -
that big one is the KC-135. it provides air to air refuelling for the fighter jets.
strange, were there not super pumas carrying the smoke pods for the flypast? -

Actually, I am fascinated by military aircraft but I don't know the names and all that. I only sit there, see them approach, go 'Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!' then head turns 180 degrees as I follow their approach from left, overhead, then right.
BTW, something very interesting I saw... a large helicopter hovered up in the air, high above, somewhere in front of Peninsula Plaza, all the time the parade was happening. I guess that's for aerial shots of the parade ground. It's amazing though... it remained up there all the while for quite a long time!! It looked like it was suspended by some invisible thread from heaven!
Waaaaaaaaaahhh! Pai seh... I sound quite sua ku, hor? -
Those 'transport planes' are KC-135....formerly they ARE transport type planes....

Oh, i see you were in the Green Sector.. I was there too just now, but in the blue sector, getting showered by the ash from the fireworks.
Saw some aunties trying to smuggle out the transparent umbrellas just now, hiding them in their own big umbrellas.. quite funny.. -

I thought I saw some odd transparent plastic thingies in your sector during the show but my friend and I couldn't quite make out what it was. So, they were transparent umbrellas? Were they supposed to be a part of the show? We looked around our sector but we didn't see the same plastic thingies so we were quite curious. -

the chinook isn't that big actually, put the SP and chinook side by side, the length is almost the same.
it is just the design that makes the chinook look big. it looks smaller then i thought
