i thought diploma can also be for those undecided on uni educationOriginally posted by joeacid:Yes of coz, both must exist. Actually, i've always been thinking that 'A' level are for ppl who cannot or haven't decide which way they wanna go. So they're given another 2 yrs of chance for them to prepare + GO! hehe
yah, diploma can also be but it's really a wasteful to go into poly for an unrelevant/uninterested at all course and in the end, go into a Uni that carry on the same thing but ends up no longer using it in the society~ it's really a wasteful. (I'm referring to ppl who really can't decide what to do after 'O' level)Originally posted by SnowFlag:i thought diploma can also be for those undecided on uni education
That poly bus fare dif issue has been talking since 1980's.. But back then, bigger issue was JC fare is abt 20c, poly was max 80cOriginally posted by sinnersotong:whatever lah...really dont know lah

That's true. Your paper qualifications only matter at the entry-level. After that, like what zodi says, it's really your aptitude + attitude.Originally posted by zodi:a-level, dip, degree... i got them all (full time @ local tertiaries)!
so which is best?
frankly, it doesn't bloody matter after few years of working coz in the long run...
the best man/woman (in terms of aptitude & attitude) wins!
yes i agree to what u say too~Originally posted by Rhonda:That's true. Your paper qualifications only matter at the entry-level. After that, like what zodi says, it's really your aptitude + attitude.
I've both 'A' levels and Diplomas (one from our local poly) and I feel both have their advantages. Whilst the 'A' levels prepare you more for the academic rigmaroles, the Dips tend to have more practical value.
In terms of school life though, I think the poly-goers are exposed to an environment which prepares them better for work. I enjoyed poly life much better too - no need to wear a school uniform, and the poly is not run like a school, but an institution.
Well, poly is getting a popular rt, just that the percentage is still not high enough partly as it takes time to develop and offer more dif coursesOriginally posted by Rhonda:Although there are mature students in the poly, the majority of the student population still comprises of local teens of the same age group as those who are heading for JC.
So, I do not understand why different bus fares apply to the poly students.
definitely Diploma...Originally posted by Rhonda:I often get different answers when it comes to this issue.
So, imagine that you have both, and you had to fill out a form asking for your 'highest qualification' - which one would you include?
