1. strictly no-no! ppl give u present how can u give to someone else???!!!
2. depends on relationship with giver : ordinary friends/colleagues/close friends/loved ones...
how u done it before? what's your opinion of ppl with do that?

If you think regiving is bad, there are actually people who abuse Robinson's no-frills return policy. They send in the gifts for a full refund.

I only wear those $10 watches, bought from the shopping carts in malls. In fact, my cheapest watch is from Hyundai. Took my car in for oil change and get to buy their brand name watch for only C$4.99. -
Hmm... so far, I haven't done that. Even if the gifts turn out to be white elephants, I'll just keep them aside.

Hmm although my mum nags at me for keeping so many of the gifts I received I still keep them hahah cause I don think its very nice to re-give the gifts

I recycle X'mas gifts received for events like X'mas party gift exchange, but not as birthday gifts (which should be more personal and bought in accordance with the the b-day person's liking). Other than that, give the rest away lor... Sigh...very wasteful hor?
Edit: another good use is to give away for charity sales - once a friend rented a push-cart stall to sell knick knacks to raise funds for an old folks home, so he helped a lot to clear my storeroom of unused gifts. -
I do recycle gifts. It depends what gift and what occassion it's for. Stuff that I would never use and are of reasonable value, I'd give away during gift exchanges. or donate as lucky draw prizes at functions if they're worth more. Done sensibly I don't think there's anything wrong with it, because the items may come in useful to someone else .

usually all stuck somewhr in my room (so u can imagine how messy it is :lol

but i do recycle gifts.... ONLY gifts tat are nice but just tat i will nvr use.... which obviously frm friends tat ain't tat close to noe wat NOT to give me...
it's a nice gift afterall, dun waste mah.. give it to someone tat i noe would appreciate it... -

The irony is, despite all the generic corporate gifts one receives, I've never been given a letter-opener. Which I actually need, but will be damned before I pay for one!

Come to think of it, it is a great idea to donate white elephant gifts to charities. I usually feel bad about giving away gifts that have been given to me but I think since it shall be for a good cause, giving to charities would be great.
How come I never thought of it before?
