Do you socialise with your work colleagues? Why / why not?
I've recently started going out for lunch / outings with some of my colleagues, it makes the office a more fun place to work in when you know a person a lil' bit better!

we go lunch everyday
the few residents
some will be away for appointments so can't join us
after work we oso go eat dinner
sometimes we go ktv.....play pool.....cheong........la kopi..... -
current place: lunch yes... after work nope...
but of cos i did have some friends [not just colleagues] frm previous work place... one of them bec one of my best friend even....
but tis is afterall not the norm.... -
me and another colleague are based at user's site permanently one.
but he very boring one leh, i also dunno what to chat with him at work...

Used to socialise with colleagues after work...that was when I worked in a commercial company with more fun people. Would go to pubs, dinner, go to each other's house and rot. Now...no, the ppl all quite boring, or maybe bec I'm work closely to big boss, so they dun trust me.

I do go out for lunch and even after-work activities with my colleagues. In all the different places I've worked in, I always make friends and I keep in touch with those who are closer to me.

Too much. Me & my ex-colleagues still goes for supper regularly. Dats y red bombs, red eggs, birthdays, hsewarmings etc etc like neverending even though i left the co. yrs ago. Cannot siam..

it is nice to socialise but it does not hurt to be wary.... -
i find team building is the good way to socialised...all expense bore by the Co...

I think I am the "kor-tak" one. I do not extend colleague-ship outside of the office. They call me ice princess. I do not hang around water cooler, nor make small talks in the morning. Me talks only when spoken to type or on official business.
But when it comes to my friends, ho ho.....here comes the social butterfly! I guess I need to reserve all that energy from workplace to personal social life. Otherwise........boh kau eng. -

Banks very conservative ah. And the environment very quiet one. No "king klang" sound one. If one talks too loud, can get slammed by the "neighbours". 
Not resistance, I keep a very low profile. But strangely, my name always get mentioned. Our Bank has this "Applause" program, i.e. your "service" (work) getting recognized by "internal clients". i dun really talk to anyone outside my department...
and still i'm rather quiet... cos i get excited too easily... n i'd start talkin rather loudly
my colleagues will always say relax dun get so excited!
so i keep quiet most of teh time..
and that's teh way it's been even outside the co..
i'm such a quiet person now -
this present coy all frens to start off with, knew them all b4 i joined.. so.
previous coy more happening. 100 pple in my dept, 70% female, all senior staff female too.
all i can say is... there's never a quiet moment.

My colleagues are nice people, but because of demographics and their family commitments, we don't hang out much after work
Still, lunch time is always lively. -
to avoid unnecessary "trouble", i'm super cool with colleagues, esp males..... if not hor.... *shake head*

Valuable? To Company? Not! There are 45K employees!!! Perhaps to dept.
It's a situation of "a small fish in a big tank" or "a big fish in a small tank". Or better still, "in the land of the blind, the one eye jack is King."
I am a shy and low profile person. Noticed in the Night Owl thread, we were asked to pick a seafood to identify ourselves? I picked Lobsters. It "blush" when cooked.......and yes, I blush easily. kekekekeke..... Also, lobsters starts with an 'L"..........Littlestream!
But put me on a stage........I AM a totally different person!!!!
I think most if not all of us has similar traits. A matter of which trait takes dominance during a particular situation.
Have a great weekend SL. I'm looking forward to my guests, this Saturday and then on Sunday, I have a lunch invitation to an Indian buffet place. *sigh*, really........how to lose those pounds???
