'The Maid' & 'Land of the Dead'

This afternoon, I watched not one, but TWO horror movies back-to-back! First, it was 'Land of the Dead', followed by 'The Maid'.
Thank goodness I found a companion who wasn't scared of watching horror movies during the 7th month! 
Of the two, I preferred The Maid for its plot, authenticity and its scare factor. It was really pretty creepy!
The zombies were scary but they were a little too... in your face.
Also, the zombie leader was a little too... un-zombie-like! 
So, have you watched any of these two movies? How do you rate them for their scare factor? -

Assuming you watch the movie over the weekend, when tickets are at $8. That's like 1.45% of your salary.

i will only watch movies with really good effects (that must be watched in a cinema cos a tv will do the show injustice) in a cinema..
otherwise.. either i rent.. or i borrow the discs from a fren or sth.. or maybe catch teh movie if i happen to be in MY.
for someone earning barely enuff to feed herself, the tix price is too high to justify the quality. -

I would usually rent or just wait till it shows on TV.
I think nowadays, Cable Vision has a service where you could pay to watch a specific movie at the time you want. Erm... am I right? Can't remember the details cause I just had a quick glance at the ad. -

I watched Shaun of the Dead, Dawn of the Dead, The Walking Dead, Resident Evil (4 times), Resident Evil: Apocalyspe, 28 Days Later and some I don't remember anymore. -

maybe i should add on.. erm.. besides havin good effects, teh story line msut be good too
otherwise u might quote titanic for the effect.... it's a 3 hours long idiotic movie with idiotic story line...
when i watched the vcd, i skipped to disc 2 after fallin aslp 5 min into teh movie
and throughout the movie, i felt so sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepy
and the movie coupons.... they cost 8 bucks..
original DVDs in china costs SGD2 bucks go figure out the maths -

My guess is that for each movie a cinema screens, they have to pay a commission or fee to the movie distributor. I did notice that Cathay tends to screen more 'art' movies and more foreign movies. They could be targetting a niche market. -

But, most would say that on the 7th month, it's best to err on the side of caution. And a few of the folks who say this are normally not the pan dang sort.
I posed questions to my fellow nursing colleagues and they all said, 'Ghosts? Aiyah, we have them around in the hospital the whole year round, lah! What difference would this 7th month make?'
