You guys won't believe what happened on Tuesday night.
I had the day shift, then I went out with a friend. I got back home around 11pm to find that there was NO WATER SUPPLY in my house! I thought it was some upgrading thing, so I made the most of the situation.
The next morning, before I went to work, I discovered that there was a missing pipe connection at the water meter outside my flat!!
I checked my neighbours, and even went upstairs to look at the flats there, and everyone else had their water pipes intact!
So I called up a few places in the morning, and my landlord's asst solved the problem - apparently, someone had stolen the stainless steel pipe outside my flat!!!
Stainless Steel can fetch a pretty good price so that explains the reason behind the theft.
This not only made me mad, but also made me realise that I'm really not safe. The day before, I had left for morning duty in my uniform. I have always felt uncomfortable passing by the coffee shop on my way to the bus stop because a lot of ah peks there will stare at people who pass by, and the nurse's uniform is kinda distinctive. I didn't like people knowing that I'll be away at work, my home will be empty. And that morning, I felt extremely uncomfortable cause there were at least two ah peks who stared and stared.
And then, the water pipe went missing...
I shall listen to my 6th sense and no longer walk that route on my way to work. I shall no longer wear my uniform on my way to work either.
Anyways, in my new workplace, I'm not allowed to wear my scrubs outside the premises.
What a drama. You have no idea how tough life can be without a ready water supply at home.
