They might instil eardrops first, then irrigate with H2O for Irrigation.
heard of this few weeks ago, seriously they do melt the earwax?Originally posted by the Bear:off topic again.. try ear candling
i have a feeling they boil the boxes and cartons of the medication to make the simulated food they serve their patients in the hospital.. well, it tastes like cardboard and recycled plastic
Some CCs conduct classes on ear candling. My initial thought was: Oh, now they're teaching people how to make candles out of ear wax".Originally posted by the Bear:anyhooo... candling => the Bear's go at candling

I imagine it would be quite ticklish!Originally posted by the Bear:but it's kinda fun.. i fell asleep and was kind relaxed..
and ears were clean after
Originally posted by Wanda:I imagine it would be quite ticklish!Anyway, I thought ear wax normally would drop out on its own towards the outer part of the ears for easy removal, so no need to go to such extent.
Hahaha...no lah, actually I sayang the cat a lot. Knocking the cat out is very costly, and shd only be used for major operation, coz sometimes small animals cannot wake up from anesthesia. Would like to talk abt your hamster, but shd stop OT liao.Originally posted by the Bear:huh? you wanna set the cat on fire right?
bring to vet.. i think they knock the cat out and clean the cat out?
gotta ask those who have and had pet cats... all i've got is a silly hamster

Y'know, Wanda, hate to tell you this, but I think your MIL's cat has a case of ear mites.Originally posted by Wanda:Hmmm...that gives me an idea. Do you think I can try it on my MIL's cat, as a non-intrusive method? She's got lots of black gunk inside her ears, and so sensitive to Q-tips.
Oh, yes, thanks. I kind of suspected that the cat's last bout of ear mites wasn't completely cured, and it has returned. I've been observing her scratching behaviour, to see if we shd apply the unfortunate treatment. She's smart enough to not scratch us but she'll try to wriggle away and won't come near us (her torturers who has to hold her down) for days after that.Originally posted by Rhonda:Y'know, Wanda, hate to tell you this, but I think your MIL's cat has a case of ear mites.
Go to the vet to get the eardrops for it. Or, you can save some money like I did, and buy that at any pet shop. That'll help get rid of the ear mites although your cat won't like you much afterwards.
You can also dampen a piece of cotton with Johnson's baby oil and clean the outside of its inner ear, gently but firmly.
Good luck with not getting scratched in the process!![]()
