TORN LIBRARY BOOKS - makes me wanna kill.

Lee Child thriller.. and right at the page
where the Vice President is supposed to kenna shot
and the story is reaching one of the most impt part of the stories...
somebodee have TORN out the page.. torn it out neatly
so I could hardly see the torn edges... so i think it is PURPOSELY one
and the next thing i know is Vice president didnt die but another key character did.
Damn bloody irritating why anyone wanna do that!!! -
someone who want to keep ppl in suspense.
no lah, just some idiot who like to vandalism books -
can they traced who is the previous lender and fine tat idiot??!!!

This happens to many magazines from NLB too. There's no way for the library to know who did it unless they flip and check every book and magazine upon their return from each borrower. I notice they have this stamp on the books that says "Pls check the book before you borrow" or something, so I guess they expect us to do the checking.

I often find torn pages of kerrang magazine at the library at esplanade, really knn. and since cannot even traced one even more knn. but at least the library replace the torn one lah. u often see some titles have more than one quantity in one branch

That's why if the book u wanna borrow got more than one copy, look for any missing pages first.

how to check book with like 500 pages?!?!
I don't think the library can really check the borrower down... even if u can definitely find where the borrower who didnt have to suffer from missing page becomes the one that have to suffer.. (must be there lah somewhere unless both lie)
Magazine I can still understand.. fine u like the pictures.. u wanna keep them.. its irritating, stupid and etc..
BUT a book with only text?? why on EARTH u wanna tear the page? And tear is CAREFULLY so ... most readers won't even understand why the last sentence and the next page don't link.. until they check the page number!!! It's not even an accident

i like to rip out pages that have got the climax of the story, or the end ones. -

Maybe is cheap binding plus rough handling.
You know how when books are flipped open too widely, the spine weakens and after some time the binding just de-frays... and pages just drop out like hair loss

for the accidental vandals.... the decent thing to do, dears, is to use something called the scotchtape or watever to TAPE the pages back. It really doesn't take much effort...
as for the non-accidental evil abusers of the founts of knowledge! (Or err.. thrillers or watever)... Err.. Your Teeth will Drop Off After Your Toenails so you can NO LONGER chew your nails! -

all his books are good except the persuader.
