No more ba... I know after my batch... the "Hao Gong Min" where there was small snippets of story to showcase morals and ethics are no longer taught .. all these gave way to other lessons and this one not examinableOriginally posted by Rhonda:Back in the '70's, schools would distribute nice little courtesy booklets to all the students in Primary schools here during the Courtesty campaign.
I wonder, do they still do that these days?

I'm a blood donor, they even gave me some super cute bandage with smiley faces..But i was damn dumb, they gave me the sponge ball to squeeze i kept suqeezing until my hand became numb and end up less den 5mins i finish liao..Originally posted by Rhonda:Speak of Singaporeans being 'cold'...
Blood donations help to save a lot of lives. Everytime I had to transfuse blood for the patients, I'd just mention to the relatives and visitors that they could donate blood to help maintain the blood supply at the Blood Bank so that other patients could be saved.
And then, there was a memo that said we should try to refrain from advising them thus, because some relatives got offended.
I mean, if your loved one was saved by someone's blood donation, wouldn't it just be a gesture of goodwill to donate blood back???!!!
So... you can take, but you can't give??!
WRONG,they are teaching you anything but morals, because during the exam all your answers would be stuff which you'll never do..Originally posted by Rhonda:I remember the "Hao Gong Min" textbooks!
I remember that reading books in lower Primary were also full of illustrations of good moral values.
