Most of these crude people who feel shocked at a kind deed done to them, are simply those without a good upbringing that emphasised manners and gentility.Originally posted by Nelstar:Question: You meant the ones you met?
Sometimes, they may not react in time or appropriately when helped. And most of the encounters I've had is that most Singaporeans aren't really taught when to say it right except when they are given what they bought.
Most of the times, it's because of the fast pace our society is moving that has made us unaware of our general behaviour.
And many learnt to be impatient because of the hectic lifestyle we're in.
Many were brought up such a way that they are only reminded to occupy best places, best spots, quickly go to one place and another.
Can't be helped. Blame the lifestyle, blame the parents.![]()

Please DO NOT give the government any new ideas for yet another public campaign! The last thing Singapore needs now is a 'Raise Your Child Right' campaign.Originally posted by elindra:The next thing we know, the government will have to start a program on educating parents on how to educate their kids.
Seriously if a kid's parent/s act like an uneducated boor, who has no shame or courtesy, you can't really blame the kid, though that shows that we have a real problem which is likely to balloon in the future and it is just feastering now.
