  da zhong guo red bean paste mooncakes.....
  
  now got all sort of weird weird flavor, so hard to find these simple, traditional one!!

  I prefer the green bean wan, call 'Pearly Jade with Omochi".. if what she bought has yolk, then it's golden jade light with yolk. The white stuff u referring to, if it's pealy jade, it's mochi and green baen in the middle. If it's golden jade light then it's white bean paste.

  Exactly. When I was a kid, we used to be able to buy those cheap read bean paste mooncakes that only had dried melon seeds inside, without egg yoke. I sure miss those!

  i like snow skin mooncakes and those original type with at LEAST 2 egg yokes.

  As for me...
  
  - No egg yolks at all
  - Jelly mooncakes, especially with yam and pandan fillings
  - Plain lotus seed paste
  - Red bean paste
  - I used to like the ham-and-nuts mooncakes
  - Ice-cream!!!
