I've always believe that marriage life should at least be as happy and peaceful as your life before marriage, if not better (in spite of all the family obligations that comes with marriage). Well, most ppl don't expect happy ever after, but things with your future family-in-law aren't very pleasant, and it seems like you can't expect your future husband to protect you or stand up for you - this alone, is enough to make me wash my hands off him, if I were you. The principle is: he must be there for you.
I recall something which I read somewhere. A priest told a married couple: after marriage, you and your spouse come first. Your parents come second, and so on. -

Ah ... AA is part time and I don't deal with every thing or every situation as I don't have that experience. Many times I wonder if I am doing more harm ... cause I would never understand fully besides there might be backlash (this I know first hand many times) ... I understand why he favours his family so much. He's also the last child and his mom's fav kid. He also decided to be a good son as he was bad in the past. But then as any chinese family will tell you, parents cannot change, wife can be swapped anytime. I've even joked that in terms of ranking ... his Coffee, Cig are first, his family, his car and somewhere down the list...is where you'll find me...
Life is as it is ... whatever it bring ... I am tried of seeking ... there's only this much I can take

Wei i contirubte alot to AA lohz,but sometimes i get so pissed by the the whining..I mean i'm single but soo...No gf no gf la...Loneliness is not an option, its a way of life...Can't people see that point...duhzzz...

One definitely can live alone and lead a happy and fulfilling life. Before I got married, I was living alone in a 3-room flat. I have a circle of friends and enjoyed the freedom tremendously. Well, at that age, we do hope to be able to find a partner, but my well-being was never dependent on that. We looked at some 5-room flats and executive flats in Tampines and they are huge. Huge halls and everything but we gave that up when we thought about the cleaning.
Then again there is just 2 of us. Even right now I think our 4-room flat is too big.
Well, it is good if there are in-laws can do the housework but both of us prefer the privacy so we decided to live on our own, plus our parents are living far far away from us. -
