Wah, sounds good to me. Thanks for the lovely tip, Rhonda. Okay, will do just that but likely not this week. I'll come back to report though.Originally posted by Rhonda:Quite simple to make!
I think, if you were to stir-fry the ingredients first, and make it a bit 'wet', then throw in the stock to cook with the rice grain, and then, when the rice is cooked, throw in the ingredients and stir them into the rice, then cook for a while longer, it'll be even better, because the goodness in the stock would have permeated into the rice grains!
from what i noe, yam rice or orh png is cooekd mainly with yam and rice, i think if u add sausage and cabbage and stuff, its orh png with sausage and cabbage and stuffOriginally posted by Rhonda:Waaaaah!! Looks soooo yummy!! Next time must invite me over to eat too!
My mom cooks a Teochew version of a 'chye png' too! It's rice placed cooked in the rice cooker first, then cooked again with yam, chinese sausage, cabbage, mushrooms, and dark soya sauce stirred in.
Yummy!!

'kiam' sounds like 'salt' but it means 'kiam' as in 'dishes'. As in 'png puay kiam'.Originally posted by laurence82:*fall off chair*
