Huh? The Twins won in 91??? Then what was I doing downtown? Don't tell me I got my years wrong??? Tsk....tsk.....pardon my old age. It must have been the following two years that the Jays won then.Originally posted by Meia Gisborn:Just to illustrate my ignorance of professional sports in this state, I was in downtown Minneapolis one evening back in 1991 for dinner with a couple of friends. We ran into THE largest crowd of people I had then seen in the state. It was like a carnival, with people celebrating in the streets and blocking ALL traffic in the downtown area. Turns out that the Minnesota Twins had won the World Series that evening, and I didn't even know about it. How's that for sports ignorance????
Wow, you remember Quah Kim Song and Dollah Kassim, eh? Do you also remember Eric Paine, the goalie for the Singapore soccer team back in the seventies? He actually lived pretty close to me.
I was inundated with work right after I got back from lunch, so I'll be checking in here only intermittently for the rest of the afternoon.

Hello,i just finish my exams today..How to work so fast?Originally posted by littlestream:Awwww...........thank you, thank you. Hao gan dong leh albeit cruel lah. You know I had a light lunch and post this kind of pic to make me drool or what? I eat light lunch 'cos later may have heavy dinner lah. Friends told of this new Indian eatery so we are all going to try it out tonight. Oh, actually not Indian eatery ah. Chinese from Pakistan. Hey, I'm lacking food or oxygen. How come memory so bad???
Broke ah? How come? You don't work part time one meh? See? You so lucky. You know? I was a child labour (pre-teen mah ). I waited at tables, part time and only make S$10 a day. That to me was a big deal already, then. Then, as a young teen, I worked part time in a camera shop manning the frontdesk. But all these experiences build me.
Congratulations............time to unwind, relax and reward yourself.Originally posted by stellazio:Hello,i just finish my exams today..How to work so fast?

Okay, I better pack up. You have a great weekend, stellazio.
I'd question why the dealership wants the labour to be paid in Singapore currency.Originally posted by littlestream:Hee hee..........it's okay lah. I prefer the laugh....any time. Now I know why Rhonda wants you (instead of me).
And oh, thanks for the reminder. Maybe can sneak out a little earlier. Got to meet hubby at his ex-landlord's. He's a retired mechanic. Getting him to take a look at my brakes. Actually, that Hyundai guy quoted me about C$135. But labour is S$80 leh. And then that @#$%^^ 15% tax leh!!! How? You think the dealership reasonable or not?
