What would you wear to a wedding that says FORMAL?

  Yeah, don't ever outshine the bride. That time my family's wedding....
  I wore too nice (cuz I thought close relation, I must make it a point to dress really nice mah). Then hor.... some of the guests thought I was the bride. The bride's guests couldn't find their way to the banquet cuz I was standing there at the entrance and they thought i was the bride. So they dare not go in.
  
  I think for that dress of mine, I will keep it for a very very long time

  Of all the ideas so far, the cheongsam seems to be the most promising, followed by a simple black dress. Basically, it's a no-brainer that the simpler it is, the better.
  
  It's even easier for the guys. Under any circumstances except for black tie, a navy blue 2-button single Breasted suit will do (can't believe the profanity scanner chokes on "Breasted"!). A white shirt, silk woven tie and Oxfords and you're all set - if it's too hot, lose the jacket.

  I vacillated between cheongsam and black dress.. got into my bright green cheongsam then something happened that spoilt my mood so end up black dress with green scarf.
  
  HoHo.. but I discovered a trick. I realised my black dress used to look quite shoddy cos I always match it with leather sandals. This time I matched it with my 2.5" brightly crystals studded strappies! Ooh yeah. I can't walk but its worth it!
