It's so important for a cookbook to fulfill these criteria!
One of the recipes I tried from that cookbook was the Sambal Udang. It was sooooo sedap!! It's just like how grandma cooked it!Originally posted by Faye Valentine:Really?????

Gosh, i have no background in Nonya Cooking!Originally posted by Rhonda:One of the recipes I tried from that cookbook was the Sambal Udang. It was sooooo sedap!! It's just like how grandma cooked it!
Of course, I took the liberty of modifying the recipe a little here and a little there, because I still am able to remember a little bit of how grandma used to prepare that dish.
She would cut up cucumbers in bite-sized chunks too for us to dip into the sambal! MMmmmmMMmm!!
The way he cooks is also very kewl!Originally posted by TehJarVu:i just find him funky and i always try to catch his programmes, they're on TV again this season, on Sat and Wed
yeah, his recipes are easy-to-follow and he uses a lot of herbs, which i like.
We organise a BBQ cum chalet thing! Let's discuss the details soon!!Originally posted by the Bear:someone, give me an excuse to cook my infamous braised duck
I remember a lot of salient tips on Nyonya cooking just by recalling what I saw grandma do when I was a kid. When you grow up with a great cook like my ah mah, it helps a lot!Originally posted by Faye Valentine:Gosh, i have no background in Nonya Cooking!

Sure, I'd love to help you in any way! Bear in mind though, that I haven't cooked 'heavy' dishes for a long, long time now!
